When we hear people talk about being present, many of us remember raising our hands in elementary school in response to roll call. Paul, CFO of Gladsen Manufacturing, saw it pretty much the same way. He felt that being present at work simply meant he was in the room for one of many gatherings and slide show presentations. Overall, he thought of himself as a present dad, husband, and executive, but was he really? In an attempt to support his son’s theatrical ambitions, Paul takes an acting class and learns that presence is a whole lot more than he thought it was.

How much of our time is spent trying to figure out what everyone else is thinking or dealing with the negative thoughts we have about ourselves? How many stories do we write in our own heads to fill in the gaps? Joe, our main character, is an executive for a software company who’s just like the rest of us. He makes his way through life convincing himself that his stories are true... that is until he meets with his daughter and learns about her favorite Journalism class.
