Ich hätte nie erwartet, mich zu verlieben … besonders nicht in meinen Feind. Als ich über eine Gruppe entflohener Dämonen stolpere, ändert sich alles. Mir fällt die Verantwortung zu, Shadow City zu schützen. Als der Kampf tobt, spüre ich einen Impuls in meiner Seele, der mich zu einem sexy Dämon mit mokkabraunen Augen zieht. Er ergibt sich freiwillig … aber ich traue ihm nicht. Ich hätte ihn auf der Stelle töten sollen. Er wird zum Auslöser für noch mehr Dämonenangriffe, aber ich kann ihn nicht aufgeben.

Être admise dans une université prestigieuse, c'était ma chance d'être libre, de m'échapper et de vivre sans peur et sans ressentiment. Et sans aucun attachement émotionnel… du moins, c'était le plan. Jusqu'à ce que je croise Egan. Il est sexy, mystérieux, et il a des muscles partout où il faut. Il éveille des sentiments dont je ne veux pas et que je ne comprends pas.

Communiquer avec mon dragon pourrait tous nous tuer. Après avoir complété mon lien d'accouplement avec Egan, les choses auraient dû être faciles, mais le danger rôde en permanence. Alors nous avons fait la seule chose possible : nous enfuir et nous cacher. Cependant, et quel qu'en soit le coût, nous devons poursuivre un objectif clair : protéger le tonnerre. Chaque décision qu'Egan et moi prenons conditionne la place des dragons métamorphes dans notre monde. Nous ne nous laisserons pas abattre sans combattre, mais j'ignore si nous en sortirons vivants.
