The first of many sequels to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz follows Tip, who is escaping from the sorceress Mombi. On his way to the Emerald City, hoping to start a new life, he creates Jack Pumpkinhead and the Wooden Sawhorse. Once the companions arrive in the Emerald City, they discover an army of girls have overthrown King Scarecrow. Joining with Scarecrow, they set off to find Tin Man, and ask Glinda for help setting things right. But first, Tip must find out who he is....

Dorothy Gale and her little dog Toto find themselves traveling through mystical places on their way to Oz. Accompanied by a kind stranger and some other characters, Dorothy follows the road through Foxville and realizes they will make it to the Land of Oz in time for Princess Ozma's royal birthday party. Once the band reaches Oz, Dorothy is met with some familiar faces as the celebration begins.

When Dorothy and her little dog Toto are caught in a tornado, they and their Kansas farmhouse are suddenly transported to Oz, where Munchkins live, monkeys fly and Wicked Witches rule. Desperate to return home, and with the Wicked Witch of the West on their trail, Dorothy and Toto - together with new friends the Tin Woodsman, Scarecrow and cowardly Lion - embark on a fantastic quest along the Yellow Brick Road in search of the Emerald City. There they hope to meet the legendary, all-powerful Wizard of Oz, who alone may hold the power to grant their every wish.

One of their numbers, a Munchkin named Bini Aru, discovered a method of transforming people and objects by merely saying the word "Pyrzqxgl". After Princess Ozma decreed that no one could practice magic in Oz except for Glinda the Good Witch and the Wizard of Oz, Bini wrote down the directions for pronouncing "Pyrzqxgl" and hid them in his magical laboratory.

Princess Ozma and Dorothy travel to an obscure corner of the Land of Oz to prevent a war between two local powers, the Skeezers and the Flatheads. The leaders of the two tribes prove obstinate, and they are determined to fight in spite of Ozma and Dorothy.

The Lost Princess of Oz is the eleventh book in the Oz series written by L. Frank Baum. Published on June 5, 1917, it begins with the disappearance of Princess Ozma, the ruler of Oz and covers Dorothy and the Wizard's efforts to find her. Tik-Tok of Oz is the eighth book in the Oz series written by L. Frank Baum, published on June 19, 1914. The book has little to do with Tik-Tok and is primarily the quest of the Shaggy Man (introduced in The Road to Oz ) to rescue his brother, and his resulting conflict with the Nome King. The book was based on Baum's play The Tik-Tok Man of Oz , which was produced in Los Angeles in spring 1913. Queen Ann Soforth of Oogaboo, a small monarchy separated from the rest of Oz's Winkie Country, sets out to raise an army to conquer Oz.

On an ocean voyage with her uncle Henry to Australia, Dorothy is blown into the sea by a storm. She takes refuge on a floating chicken-coop, which washes ashore, along with the coop and a hen in it. The hen is able to speak; Dorothy gives it the name "Billina". Exploring the land, Dorothy and Billina are menaced by a tribe of brightly dressed "Wheelers", who have wheels instead of hands and feet.

While Dorothy Gale is at home in Kansas one day, she and her pet dog Toto meet the Shaggy Man who comes walking past the Gale farm. He is a friendly, yet slightly senile hobo with an optimistic, carefree mentality.

The Scarecrow of Oz is the ninth book in the Oz series written by L. Frank Baum. Published on July 16, 1915, it was Baum's personal favorite of the Oz books and tells of Cap'n Bill and Trot journeying to Oz and, with the help of the Scarecrow, overthrowing the corrupt King Krewl of Jinxland. Cap'n Bill and Trot (Mayre Griffiths) had previously appeared in two other novels by Baum, The Sea Fairies (1911) and Sky Island (1912). Cap'n Bill, a sailor with a wooden peg leg, and his friend, a little girl named Trot, set out from California on a calm day for a short ride in their rowboat.

In order to prevent a war between two neighboring groups, Ozma and Dorothy travel to a remote corner of Oz to lend their wisdom and their aid. Despite their good intentions, the Skeezers and the Flatheads are determined to have their war and imprison the two girls in an enclosed underwater city.

It was published on June 18, 1908 and reunites Dorothy Gale with the humbug Wizard from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz . Dorothy Gale is gladly joining her Uncle Henry in California to visit relatives who live at Hugson's Ranch, after their vacation from Australia in Ozma of Oz . Dorothy meets Hugson's nephew who is her second cousin, Zeb of Hugson's Ranch. Dorothy, Eureka (her cat) and Zeb are riding a buggy being pulled by a cab-horse named Jim when a violent earthquake strikes.

The Emerald City of Oz is the sixth book in L. Frank Baum's Oz series. Originally published on July 20, 1910, it is the story of Dorothy Gale and her Uncle Henry and Aunt Em coming to live in Oz permanently. While they are toured through the Quadling Country, the Nome King is assembling allies for an invasion of Oz. This is the first time in the Oz series that Baum made use of double plots for one of the books.

While playing outside on the farm in Kansas, Dorothy, and Toto happen upon the Shaggy Man, who asks for directions to Butterfield. The pair is happy to show him the way, but the road splits into seven different paths and Dorothy is unsure which is the correct choice. The novel tells the story of Orissa Kane, the sister of Stephen who is working on a new kind of biplane that he thinks will be a vast improvement over the other models.
