A forgotten key. A hidden door. A garden waiting to come alive. After losing her parents, lonely and disagreeable Mary Lennox is sent to live with her reclusive uncle at Misselthwaite Manor, a vast and mysterious estate on the Yorkshire moors. Surrounded by locked rooms, whispering corridors...

Living off crumbs in a dreary attic, Sara Crewe comforts herself with wondrous stories of adventure and fortune, and in the end the stories become true.

Sara Crewe is one of the most vivid figures in children's fiction. Born in India and sent to school in England, she is, at first, treated like a princess by the teacher, Miss Minchin. But when it is evident that Sara is not the possessor of a princess's fortune, she is dispatched to live in the attic and become a servant.

Cedric Errol is a child living in poverty with his mother in New York City, when all of a sudden, his life is turned upside down. He learns that after the untimely deaths of several distant relatives, he is heir to an enormous estate in England and has inherited the title of Lord Fauntleroy. His grandfather, the earl of Dorincourt, asks that Cedric come to England and begin managing his estate but requires that he leave his mother behind.

Sarah est confiée au pensionnat de Miss Minchin, perd son père, devient une souillon avant d'être surprise par la gentillesse du " gentleman indien " qui se révèle être l'ami du capitaine Crewe.

At the heart of each of these great classic stories is an adoptee with an indomitable spirit who becomes the heroine (or hero) of her own life. "The bravery it takes for an unwanted orphan to forge their own path in life was as great when these stories were written as it is today," says narrator Alison Larkin, who draws on her own adoption experience to bring these stories to authentic new life.

Harriet Walter and Beryl Reid star in this full-cast adaptation of the much-loved children's classic. When spoilt young orphan Mary Lennox is brought back from India to live in her uncle's house on the Yorkshire Moors, she finds the blunt ways of the staff at Misselthwaite Manor an unpleasant shock. Bored and miserable, it seems as though life in England will be awful. But Misselthwaite has hidden delights, and when Mary begins to discover them, nothing is the same again.

When a young British girl, born and reared in India, loses her neglectful parents in an earthquake, she is returned to England to live at her uncle's castle. Due to the loss of his wife ten years before, her uncle is very distant and, once again, the girl finds herself ignored. As she grows accustomed to the house and its inhabitants, she begins exploring the estate and discovers a garden, the doors of which have been locked.

Since its first publication in 1885, Little Lord Fauntleroy has become a favorite with children. The move from New York to his ancestral castle comes as a shock to both Cedric and his new-found relatives, and while he comes to terms with aristocratic ways, they become more aware of compassion and social justice.

Mary Lennox is a sad and sickly girl. She acts bitter to everyone around her and doesn’t mind that she doesn’t have friends; she doesn’t need them. When she moves to a dark, gloomy manor to live with her uncle, she has no interest in exploring her new home - until she learns that there is a secret locked garden somewhere on the grounds.

A Little Princess tells the story of Sara Crewe, a brilliant and imaginative student at a Select Seminary for Young Ladies. When her father dies, Sara becomes a pauper, forced to live in the attic and work as a servant. She faces adversity with stoic optimism, which leads her out of the dire circumstances. The narrative demonstrates the value of kindness over cleverness, the importance of giving freely and respecting others, no matter their station in life.

This classic of children's literature tells the story of a child's journey into maturity. Although an engaging children’s story, The Secret Garden is on a par with any classic novel. The narrative includes themes of hope, healing, and redemption with charming moments of myth, mystery, and symbolism.
