A timeless classic of love, independence, and self-discovery by E. M. Forster. A Room with a View by E. M. Forster is a luminous story of awakening—of learning to see clearly, to feel deeply, and to choose a life guided by truth rather than convention. When Lucy Honeychurch travels to Italy, she is confronted with beauty, passion, and a way of life far removed from the rigid expectations of Edwardian England. Through chance encounters and quiet revelations, she begins to question everything she has been taught about love, propriety, and her place in the world.

"The Romance in Italy Collection" celebrates two radiant journeys into desire, self-discovery, and the transformative beauty of the Italian landscape. In E. M. Forster's "A Room with a View," a young woman's awakening unfolds amid Florence's sunlit terraces, social restraint, and the liberating pull of passion. In Elizabeth von Arnim's "The Enchanted April," four very different women escape the grey pressures of English life for a blossom-filled villa in the tiny Italian village of San Salvatore, where warmth, friendship, and possibility begin to bloom.

Long hailed as one of the most brilliant and beloved authors of the Edwardian era, E.M. Forster's works have become among the most critically acclaimed and cherished novels of the past hundred years and have been adapted numerous times for the stage and screen. "A Room With a View" and "Howards End" are presented here in their original and unabridged formats, narrated by renowned audiobook performer Sara Nichols, best known for her readings of Charlotte Bronte's "Jane Eyre" and Willa Cather's Prairie Trilogy.

The story revolves around three disparate families: the idealistic Schlegels (consisting of Margaret, Helen and brother Tibby), the wealthy Wilcox family (parents Henry and Ruth and their children) and the impoverished Basts (Leonard and his wife Jacky). When the Wilcox family moves to London and discover they are living close to their new acquaintances the Schlegels, a friendship is kindled between the infirm Ruth Wilcox and Margaret Schlegel. Ruth - who has a strong attachment to her country house called Howards End - pens a note leaving the house to Margaret.

The most romantic literary lovers in history: Anne Elliot and Captain Wentworth. Lucy Honeychurch and George Emerson. Helen Graham and Gilbert Markham. Now, all three of their classic stories are collected in one volume: the Classic Romance Collection - Volume III featuring Jane Austen's "Persuasion," E.M. Forster's "A Room With a View," and Anne Brontë's "The Tenant of Wildfell Hall."

One of E.M. Forster's most beloved and critically-acclaimed works, "A Room With a View" follows the journeys—both abroad and romantically—of young Lucy Honeychurch, a British girl during the Edwardian era with a distinctly independent nature. On a trip to Italy, with her chaperone Miss Charlotte Bartlett in tow, Lucy encounters a Mr. Emerson and his son George.

First published in 1910, this classic tale of three very different and socially distant families, whose lives intertwine through chance encounter, still has the power to move and entertain us. The passionate and artistic Schlegels, with their idealism and compassion find themselves inextricably linked with the pragmatic and capable Wilcox family, through a series of events which change the course of their lives forever.

A Passage to India hauntingly evokes India at the peak of the British colonial era, portraying the racial tension that underscores every aspect of daily life. In this setting, we meet Adela Quested and Mrs. Moor, British visitors to Chandrapore who, despite their strong ties to the colonial community there, are eager for a more "authentic" taste of India. But when their fates tangle with those of Cecil Fielding and his local friend, Dr. Aziz, at the nearby Marabar Caves, the community of Chandrapore is split wide open and everyone’s life—British and Indian alike—is forever altered.

The disregard of a dying woman's bequest, a girl's attempt to help an impoverished clerk, and the marriage of an idealist and a materialist - all these narratives intersect at an estate called Howards End. The fate of this country home symbolizes the future of England in an exploration of social, economic, and philosophical trends during the post-Victorian era.

The best literary analysis of novels ever written.

This collection of short stories from E. M. Forster contains six tales that were initially written between 1903 and 1912. Many of these stories, including the modern classic 'The Machine Stops' - which is set in a world where humanity lives underground and relies on a giant machine to provide its needs - deal with science fiction and supernatural themes.

A dystopian classic, The Eternal Moment is the titular title in Forster's classic collection of short stories, The Eternal Moment and Other Stories. It follows Ms Raby, Colonel Leyland, and Eustace on their journey through the Alps as spirits, animals, and sprites guide the reader on a journey through ideas of nature, freedom, and transformation.

When the young English widow Lilia Herriton takes off on the grand tour and along the way marries a penniless Italian, her in-laws are far from amused. That the marriage should fail and poor Lilia die tragically are only to be expected. But that Lilia should have had a baby - and that the baby should be raised as an Italian - are matters of grave concern to Philip Herriton, his dour sister Harriet, and their well-meaning friend Miss Abbott.

Lucy has her rigid middle-class life mapped out for her, until she visits Florence with her uptight cousin Charlotte, and finds her neatly ordered existence thrown off balance. Her eyes are opened by the unconventional characters she meets at the Pension Bertolini: flamboyant romantic novelist Eleanor Lavish, the Cockney Signora, curious Mr Emerson and, most of all, his passionate son George. Lucy finds herself torn between the intensity of life in Italy and the repressed morals of Edwardian England, personified in her terminally dull fiancé Cecil Vyse.

The Celestial Omnibus and Other Stories is a collection of short-stories which Forster wrote during the prewar years, most of which were symbolic fantasies or fables.

E. M. Forster once wrote that ‘The Longest Journey’ was the novel he was ‘most glad to have written’, but he admitted it was ‘the least popular of my five novels.’ It was his second published work, dating from 1907, following ‘Where Angels Fear to Tread’ (1905) and preceding, by...
