Im Februar 1920 in München als Nachfolgeorganisation der "Deutschen Arbeiterpartei" gegründet, entwickelte sich die NSDAP innerhalb weniger Jahre zu einer Massenorganisation mit zuletzt 8,5 Millionen Mitgliedern. Im Frühjahr 1899 verlässt der Novize Georg Lanz vollkommen überraschend für seine Mitbrüder das Stift Heiligenkreuz. Für Monate verliert sich seine Spur im Dunkeln. Am Weihnachtsfest des Jahres 1900 lösen sich die Nebel. Gemeinsam mit seinen Brüdern Herwig und Fridolin gründet Georg den "O.N.T.", den "Orden vom Neuen Tempel". Eine verschworene Gemeinschaft Gleichgesinnter in der Tradition des alten Tempelritterordens, der nach blutiger Verfolgung im März des Jahres 1312 untergegangen war. Lanz war überzeugt, das Geheimnis der Tempelritter entdeckt zu haben.
