Sex: It was just another commodity that the medieval royals had on tap. Not content with the wealth, power and a lifestyle to match, they also seemed to have an unlimited amount of sex available. If anyone in power today were to behave in the manner that some of those that wore the crown did, then there would be a revolution quicker than you could say, "undress, wench".

Genghis Khan is one of history's greatest and most famous conquerors. No man, before or since, has ever started with so little and gone on to achieve so much. From a noble family, but raised in poverty that drove him to the brink of starvation, Genghis Khan rose to control the second-largest empire the world has ever known. Vlad was reputed to be such a tyrant that his reputation and stories of his deeds spread across Germany and the rest of Europe during his lifetime.

When a crusader army of Western European Franks took Jerusalem by storm on July 15, 1099, it was one of the more unexpected conquests in history. Everything seemed to be against them for the previous three years of crusades right up to the final siege, yet they finally prevailed. And when they did, they massacred most if not all of the population before establishing a Christian realm in a region that had been taken over by the Muslims in 634 CE.

Treason. Considered by kings, queens, and emperors the most hideous crime of all. And as such some of the most vengeful punishments known to man were reserved for those convicted of it. Yet over the course of history, there have been no shortages of men and women who have been convicted or accused of it. Some have willingly committed the act; others were forced into it, and many more were wrongfully convicted by paranoid leaders determined to assert their authority.
