Prophets serve as intermediaries between the human and divine worlds, granting them a special status in history across diverse religions and cultures. For Muslims, the Prophet Muhammad (570 - 632 CE) represents the culmination of the line of monotheistic prophets, including Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. In his own lifetime, Muhammad overcame opposition and brought reforms, firmly establishing a thriving community of believers which would become a major world civilization.

This audiobook provides a concise yet comprehensive account of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) life, from his birth in Makkah to his prophethood, challenges, victories, and lasting legacy. The blessed Chapter, revealed in Mecca, has 40 verses. The designation of the Chapter, denoting resurrection, derives from the opening verse. The chapter, as reflected in its title, mainly treats of the Day of Resurrection. It opens with an enumeration of the harsh and frightening incidents to occur at the end of the world and proceeds to make mention of the happy and sad appearances of the good and evil doers.

"Cet ouvrage de quelques heures pour livrer une histoire - presque complète - de l'islam politique. Cette idéologie qui est née et qui a évolué dans l'ombre de la Grande Histoire de la civilisation musulmane s'est nourrie, à chaque époque, de contextes particuliers et de luttes intestines. Appelée communément islamisme cette pensée - qui instrumentalise des lectures littéralistes du corpus islamique - est méconnue."

Egypt in the 13th century was a glorious kingdom to behold. However, there was another factor that made Cairo infamous. The city represented the last bastion of the Muslim world. In 1258, the Mongols sacked Baghdad, destroying the capital of the mighty Islamic Abbasid Caliphate, which was a major blow to the Islamic world. The Mongol armies continued west into the holy land of Syria and Palestine. There, the Mongols met the foe to rival them in war: The Mamluks. Hailing from the Eurasian steppes, the Mamluks were not Arab, but ethnically Turkish, enslaved at a young age.

The Gospel of Barnabas is not to be confused with the Epistle of Barnabas or with the Acts of Barnabas. The book depicts the life of Jesus and claims to be written by the biblical Barnabas who is one of the 12 apostles. Barnabas is about the same length as the four canonical gospels put together, with the bulk being devoted to an account of Jesus' ministry. The text of this Gospel is pseudepigraphical, but some scholars suggest that it may contain remnants of an earlier, apocryphal work from the Gnostic, Ebionite, or Diatessaronic traditions.

The surah begins by describing how on the Day of Judgment, the Earth will give off a terrible earthquake and "throw up her burdens". Through the inspiration of God, the Earth will bear witness to the actions of men it has witnessed. According to Michael Sells, the Earth opening up and bearing forth her secrets in this surah is indicative of a birth metaphor. Human beings will then realize that the moment of accountability has arrived. This meticulous accountability will reflect good and evil deeds that might have seemed insignificant at the time.

Yunus (Jonah) is the 10th chapter (surah) of the Quran with 109 verses (ayat). Yunus is named after the Prophet Yunus AS (Jonah). According to traditional Islamic chronology (asbab al-nuzul), it is believed to have been formulated or "revealed" before the migration of Prophet Muhammad SAW and his followers from Mecca to Medina, as such, it is known as a Meccan surah.

Surah al-Jinn (Arabic: “The Jinn”) is the 72nd chapter of the Noble Quran with 28 verses. The name as well as the topic of this chapter is jinn. Similar to angels, the jinn are spiritual beings invisible to the naked human eye. In the Quran, it is stated that humans are created from the earth and jinn (demon) from smokeless fire in more than one instance.

Despite the vast body of works written about the Prophet Muhammad, there are some gaps. In particular, it is difficult to find a short introduction to the life of the Prophet written from the perspective of the believer but which also recognizes the contributions of contemporary scholarship by both Muslim and non-Muslim scholars. Such a work is needed by young adults and people who are unfamiliar with the historical and religious sources but want to know more about the Prophet and his life.

The advent of the Prophet Muhammad SAW changed the face of the history of mankind in a manner that this world has never seen before. Since the first man and Prophet Adam (Pbuh) was sent down to Earth, Allah SWT sent many prophets and messengers to guide mankind to the truth and to the straight path. Soon after the deaths of these prophets, their followers deviated from the teachings and corrupted the religion of Allah.

The Cow or Surah al-Baqarah is the second and longest chapter (Surah) of The Noble Quran. It consists of 286 verses. It is a Medinan surah, that is to say that it was revealed at Medina after the Hijrah, with the exception of a few verses that Muslims believe were revealed during the Farewell Pilgrimage, the last Hajj of Prophet Muhammad SAW. This is the longest Surah in The Noble Quran.

This 38-verse chapter was revealed in Medina. It is generally understood that Medinan chapters focus on the establishment of a functioning Muslim society. This one is no different and tackles several subjects, including war, what happens to those who try to prevent others from converting to Islam, and the futility of opposing God and his prophet.

Profiled on the front page of the Wall Street Journal, Iranian-born scholar Vali Nasr has become one of America's leading commentators on current events in the Middle East, admired and welcomed by both media and government for his "concise and coherent" analysis (Wall Street Journal). In this "smart, clear and timely" book (Washington Post), Nasr brilliantly dissects the political and theological antagonisms within Islam. He provides a unique and objective understanding of the 1,400-year bitter struggle between Shias and Sunnis, and sheds crucial light on its modern-day consequences—from the nuclear posturing of Iran's President Ahmadinejad to the recent U.S.-enabled shift toward Shia power in Iraq and Hezbollah's continued dominance in Lebanon.

At a time when violent images of the Muslim world dominate our headlines, Western audiences are growing increasingly interested in a different picture of Islam, specifically the idea of Muslim nonviolence, and what it could mean for the world. But is nonviolence compatible with the teachings of Islam? Is it practical to suggest that Muslim societies must adopt nonviolence to thrive in today’s world? Where is the Muslim equivalent of a Mohandas K. Gandhi or Martin Luther King Jr.?

Al-Hasan al-Wazzan - born in Granada to a Muslim family that in 1492 went to Morocco - became famous as the great Renaissance writer Leo Africanus, author of the first geography of Africa to be published in Europe (in 1550). He had been captured by Christian pirates in the Mediterranean and imprisoned by the Pope; when he was released and baptized, he lived a European life of scholarship as the Christian writer Giovanni Leone....
