Wovon ich heute berichten möchte, hatte sich im Spätherbst des Jahres 1896 ereignet. Die Geschehnisse fanden im Londoner Sankt-Lukas-Hospital für Geisteskranke und in der kleinen Ortschaft Castle Hedingham statt.

Sherlock Holmes und Dr. Watson sollen Admiral Schlierfaz vom Raumflotten-Kommando auf heikler Mission begleiten. Die Gattin eines Erfinders auf einem Planeten, wo Kriminalität unbekannt ist, soll überredet werden, den werten Gemahl aus dem Kryo-Schlaf zu wecken. Doch es erwartet sie eine üble Überraschung.

Von was ich heute berichten möchte, handelt um einen Meeresgott, aber nicht etwa um den römischen Gott Neptun oder dem griechischen Wassergott Poseidon, nein, es handelt sich um den Meeresgott Dagon, eine Abscheulichkeit, wenn man den Berichten Glauben schenken möchte. Ich meinerseits denke da eher an Fabeln und Mythen, wobei der Mensch selbst zu den größten Abscheulichkeiten fähig ist – noch dazu, wenn man im Namen einer Gottheit Menschenopfer zelebriert. So passiert in London, genauer gesagt im Londoner Abwassernetz.

Da Kapitän Decker keine Lust hat, auftragsgemäß eine Familienangelegenheit zu regeln, delegiert er die heikle Sache an Sherlock Holmes und Dr. Watson. Beide müssen sich nun in einem intelligenten Fortbewegungsmittel auf die Suche nach der vermissten Tochter des Präsidenten von Gliese 229 Ab machen. Scheitern sie, dann droht den dort befindlichen Menschen die Vernichtung.

Wovon ich heute berichten möchte, handelt von den Urinstinkten des Homo sapiens und spielte sich in einer kleinen Ortschaft namens Altham in der Grafschaft Lancashire ab. Manchmal ist der Mensch nur triebgesteuert, aber der Reihe nach.
