Washington, DC, the year 1967. Sarah Schorr (late of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon) is secretary to Judge Francis Biddle, for whom age has inclined to look backwards at what was rather than what is...and what will come. Sarah has the task of guiding this frail but brilliant man into the now in order that his affairs may be set in order. The two consider their generation's time as a golden era, but as they clash, each comes to realise that they are actually dancing to the same tune; it is merely a different arrangement.

The most renowned and wittiest of Oscar Wilde's comedies, The Importance of Being Earnest ridicules Victorian sensibilities and is still strikingly relevant to this day. This full-cast audio adaptation featuring Tim Brooke-Taylor as Lady Bracknell is unique yet at the same time reassuringly familiar, with wonderful performances from the Offstage Theatre Group.

The Passionate Pilgrim, a collection of beautiful verses by Shakespeare and other contemporary poets, is here paired with the Bard's intriguing allegorical work The Phoenix and the Turtle, which focuses on the love and death of two birds - a Phoenix and a Turtle Dove. Mysterious and haunting, these rarely recorded works are richly rewarding, performed to perfection by Gerard Logan.

Peter Sellers, rightly regarded as a comic genius, lived a life full of success and excess - fuelled by indulgence and wild mood swings. Dying at an early age in 1980, Sellers left no autobiography, no revealing record of his life and feelings. This audio play aims to fill that gap.
