Exclusive interview with best-selling author Donna Leon. Donna joins us to discuss the latest in the Brunetti series, The Waters of Eternal Youth.

Joining us at Audible Studios is scientist and broadcaster Adam Rutherford. Rutherford is the presenter of BBC Radio 4's Inside Science, as well as author of a number of books, including How to Argue with a Racist. Adam Rutherford spoke to us about his latest publication, How to Argue with a Racist, and we discussed the history of genetics, race being a social construct, his thoughts on ancestry testing kits and more.

Picoult, born in New York, has published more than 26 novels and short stories, not including the several issues of Wonder Woman she wrote for DC Comics. Picoult has 40 million copies of her books in print, and they have been translated into 34 languages - to say she is a prolific writer would be an understatement, and she was awarded the New England Bookseller Award for fiction in 2003.

Joining us at Audible is Alastair Campbell, British journalist, broadcaster and former political aide. Campbell's latest book, Living Better, takes an in-depth look at his lifelong battle with depression.

Dahl has been contributing editor at Men’s Vogue, Conde Nast Traveller and British Vogue. Her literary career began in 2003, when she released her first book, an illustrated novella which became a Times best seller, titled The Man with the Dancing Eyes. She has gone on to release cookery books, including Miss Dahl’s Voluptuous Delights, and cookery shows. Dahl, married to jazz singer Jamie Cullum, has two children and lives in Buckinghamshire. Her newest book is her first for children and is titled Madame Badobedah.

The Beekeeper of Aleppo tells the story of Nuri, a beekeeper, and Afra an artist, who are warmly surrounded by friends and family in the beautiful city of Aleppo in Syria. Their world changes in an instant when war destroys everything they've known and loved and serves them unendurable heartbreak. In this interview we spoke about Lefteri's experiences in refugee camps in Athens, how these weighed on her, and thus her motivations for writing The Beekeeper of Aleppo. We also spoke about learning about beekeeping, PTSD and asylum.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Alex Michaelides, a Hollywood screenwriter, who has released his debut thriller The Silent Patient. We spoke about his novel in which a devoted and loving wife suddenly shoots her husband five times, and never speaks another word. We also spoke about his university studies, how they have influenced his writing, his amazing career so far, and his upcoming plans.

Joining us in the Audible Studios to talk about her autobiography, In Pieces, is two-time Academy Award and three-time Emmy Award-winning actress Sally Field. One of the most enduring actors of our time, Sally Field has portrayed a variety of iconic roles on both the large and small screen. From her early roles in sitcoms and films such as Sybil and Gidget to her award-winning performances in Lincoln, Hello, My Name Is Doris and ER, Field has remained a celebrated figure and activist. Her new memoir, In Pieces, was published in September 2018.

Joining us in the Audible Studios to talk about his latest book and autobiography, A Better Me, is lauded British singer, songwriter and record producer Gary Barlow. Best known as the lead singer of British boy band Take That and head judge of The X Factor UK from 2011-2013, Gary Barlow is one of the UK’s most successful songwriters, with 14 number one singles, 24 top 10 hits and three number one singles as a solo artist. Gary Barlow’s official autobiography, A Better Me, was published in October 2018.

Joining us in the Audible studios to talk about her new book, Turned On: The Sex Robot Story, is British computer scientist and senior lecturer in the department of computing at Goldsmiths University Kate Devlin. Kate Devlin is best known for her work on human sexuality and robotics and is also the founder of the UK’s first ever sex tech hackathon and cochair of the annual Love and Sex with Robots convention. Andrew Morton visits the Audible Studios to discuss its audiobook release and the effect the book has had on his life.

Joining us at Audible Studios is the actor of one of the most familiar droids known to man and aliens alike: Anthony Daniels, best known for his role as C-3PO in Star Wars. Daniels dropped out of law school to pursue amateur dramatics and spent time working at BBC Radio and the National Theatre. His agent recommended he go visit George Lucas, who was casting for Star Wars. Daniels wasn't interested in the role but was persuaded to go along. It was a meeting that changed the course of his life.

Joining us at Audible Studios is ex-Special Forces soldier, and member of the director staff for SAS: Who Dares Wins, Ollie Ollerton. He has penned a novel, Break Point, to share his life story and secrets for achievement. Break Point travels through Ollerton's life to depict his most challenging moments, from a freak childhood accident, through his time in Iraq and Baghdad, including high-speed shoot-outs, counter-terrorism and humanitarian heroics.

His latest book, Black, Listed, is an exploration into 21st-century black identity, looking at why it's wrong to call someone a 'lighty', what a roadman really is, and why people think black guys are cool. It examines black identity through a list of insults and insights and everything in between. In this interview, Jeffrey told us what he learnt writing the book, why ‘black’ and ‘white’ are woefully inadequate and about the importance of teaching broad history and not getting stuck in old narratives.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Alex Bertie, YouTube vlogger of his transgender journey and author of Trans Mission: My Quest to a Beard. When Alex was born, doctors took one look and put an 'F' for female on the birth certificate, based on genitals. When Alex was 15 he realised he was a transgender man, through many years of struggling with identity. After coming out to family and friends, Alex battled the health-care system in order to take male hormones, have surgery, change his name and grow a beard.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Anne Griffin, debut author of the next great Irish novel, When All Is Said. Griffin’s novel depicts an Irish farmer who orders five drinks over the course of one night to toast each of the five most important people in his life. His life is laid bare, in its loves and feuds, regrets and triumphs, all through the five people who have left him behind. We spoke about her inspiration for the book, her literary career so far and what her plans are for the future.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Candice Carty-Williams, senior marketing executive at Vintage books and author of Queenie. Queenie is a relatable, darkly comic take on a Jamaican-British woman living in London trying to recover from a messy breakup, gain some attention among all the white middle class peers at her newspaper job and, most of all, fit into two different cultures. We spoke about her motivations for writing Queenie, her career, the lack of diversity in publishing and what she is planning on doing next.

Oliver looks at everything from ruined towns on the edge of Siberia, to Bond-villain lairs in Knightsbridge and Manhattan. Something has gone wrong with the workings of the world, and Oliver shares insight on the current situation in Moneyland. From his time living in Russia to the books he has written since, we discuss our current political and economic situation, key moments in history that lead to now, and his many years of research into this topics.
