    Given the Hawaii backdrop, I couldn't shake the feeling that this film was specifically designed for The Rock and Momoa - though it seems The Rock may have dropped out and Bautista stepped in. But that wasn't the case after all. Nonetheless, for a streaming action flick that was "#2 in the US" during my viewing, I must admit it exceeded my expectations. I did find the recurring gag of Momoa constantly drinking beers a bit cringeworthy - but I was able to overlook it. The chase sequences were fantastic, featuring gruesome, exaggerated deaths that you wouldn't normally encounter in action films, like a motorcycle rider having his head ground to bits at 80 miles per hour on the highway... or losing an entire arm... but it's all in good fun. At times, I felt reminiscent of Rush Hour 2 and 3, especially with the strong storyline involving Hawaiian and Asian crime lords.     I had been looking forward to this film for a few weeks. Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista in an action comedy is right up my street. Early on in the film, I felt a bit concerned because there were some terrible continuity issues with Momoa's glasses. They shifted around his face and head, even vanishing and reappearing all within a single scene between camera angles. I typically don't pay much attention to these kinds of errors unless they are glaringly obvious, and these were VERY obvious.     A lot of fun to be had. Initially, there are numerous one-liners and insults exchanged. Walter, who is killed, is the father of James (Bautista), while Johnny (Momoa) is James's half-brother. The funeral serves as a reunion for them, despite their strained relationship. The police view Walter's death as just a hit and run, nothing out of the ordinary. However, it is more than that, leading to an exciting journey as they start to uncover the truth. The film features many well-choreographed fight scenes and an exhilarating chase sequence that incorporates various elements. It appears both actors enjoyed making the film, which contributes to its appeal. While it may not win any Oscars, it's a lot of fun with a bowl of popcorn.     After being estranged for a few years, James (David Bautista) and Jonny (Jason Momoa), two half-brothers, unexpectedly find themselves together after their father passes away. Neither of them believes it was not an accident, and they realize they must cooperate to find a solution. I like how the comedy isn't overdone; it strikes a balance so it doesn't get too ridiculous. It's not only an action movie, but it also has a heart to it has well. David Bautista and Jason Momoa definitely have that brotherly vibe that makes their scenes together work. Both the combat sequences and the action moments are fantastic. This installment, which delves into cults, religion, and philosophical elements, introduces meaner, weirder, and bolder ideas that keep it feeling fresh. While Danny Boyle's signature style and the original music composers may be absent, Nia DaCosta brings her own unique flavor and a well-executed, polished approach to the franchise's aesthetic.
