  • Ep 13: and That's a School Survival Guide
    2026/08/21

Class is officially back in session—and unfortunately, we have thoughts.

This week, John Jacob and Jed are going back to school… kind of. We’re talking first-day fits, cafeteria politics, the school lunches that had absolutely no business being that good, the teachers we loved (and the ones we’re apparently STILL holding grudges against), and whether adult us would even survive one full day back in the classroom.

But somewhere between school nostalgia and questionable teenage decisions, we get into the stuff that wasn’t exactly in the curriculum: bullying, fitting in, figuring out who you were, and what it was like navigating school when you weren’t always ready—or able—to be completely yourself.

Would teenage us recognize who we are today? Would we have even been friends back then? And with TikTok, screenshots, location sharing, group chats, and everything being recorded… did we have it easier, or do kids today?

Grab your backpack, find your lunch table, and please don’t ask us to do algebra.

The bell rang. And THAT’s a pod convo. 🎓

  • Ep 12: and THAT’s the ICK. 🤢
    2026/08/12

You know the feeling. Everything is going great, the attraction is there, and then they do one tiny thing and suddenly… you can never look at them the same way again.

But what actually IS an ick? And more importantly, when did we start confusing icks with actual red flags?

This week, Jed and John Jacob dive into the wonderfully irrational world of the ick: where they come from, whether they're actually trying to tell us something, and if it's possible to bounce back once you've gotten one. We tackle some of the Group Chat's icks—including, apparently, butt crack—which somehow isn't an ick for Jed. Do with that information what you will.

But somewhere between judging everyone's completely harmless behaviors and questioning our own, we stumble into something deeper: is there a point in a relationship where the things that once gave you the ick become part of intimacy? Is the opposite of the ick actually being comfortable enough to be completely ridiculous around someone?

    Ick + intimacy = Icktimacy?

We don't know. We made it up.

But now we have to talk about it.

    and THAT’s the Ick. 🤢

  • Ep 11: and THAT's For You
    2026/08/05

    After a 1 week Hiatus I say...

    Hand over your phone.

    No, seriously.

Would you let your parents see your For You Page? Your partner? Your best friend? Because this week, we're asking what might be the most terrifying question we've ever asked on this podcast:

What does your algorithm know about you?

We're diving headfirst into our For You Pages—from TikTok and Instagram to Facebook Reels and whatever app has you saying, “Okay, ONE more video.”

But somewhere between the thirst traps, recipes, relationship advice, brain rot and oddly specific rabbit holes, we started wondering: Did we create this algorithm… or did it create us?

Do we shape what we're shown, or does what we're shown eventually shape the way we think, shop, laugh, date and see the world? How quickly can an innocent scroll take you from one harmless video straight down the algorithm-to-cult pipeline? And did our TikTok feeds actually feel different before the government's involvement with the platform versus after?

Plus, what's your app of choice? Are you loyal to TikTok? An Instagram Reels bitch? Somehow living your best life on Facebook Reels? Or have you escaped the algorithm entirely?

Our feeds might be “For You”…

but who exactly is deciding who YOU are?

Grab your phone, check your FYP, and join the Group Chat.

  • Ep 10: and THAT's not my friend anymore... ⛓️‍💥
    2026/07/22

Friendship breakups don't always come with slammed doors, dramatic fights, or one person to blame. Sometimes they happen quietly. Life changes, priorities shift, and one day you realize someone you couldn't imagine life without has become a stranger.

This week, we're talking about the friendships that shaped us, the ones that faded, and the ones we still think about from time to time. Can you outgrow someone without either of you being the villain? What does it really take to stay friends forever? And is it ever too late to rekindle a friendship?

Along the way, we share our own stories, tackle listener questions, and leave space for anyone who's ever wondered, "What happened to us?"

Whether you're grieving a friendship, hoping to reconnect, or simply reminiscing about the people who helped make you who you are, this conversation is for you.

Because not every friendship is meant to last forever...

...but every friendship leaves a mark.

  • Ep 9: and THAT's the other 11 months
    2026/07/15

What does allyship look like when the Pride flags come down?

Inspired by a listener question, John Jacob and Jed dive into the uncomfortable gray areas of allyship—especially when family, marriage, loyalty, and silence all collide. Is someone still an ally if they ignore their spouse’s hateful rhetoric? Is “it’s just the internet” ever a valid excuse? And does a harmful post matter less when nobody likes, shares, or interacts with it—or does continuing to post without validation make the intent even clearer?

We unpack what it means to confront the people closest to us, whether family is automatically owed loyalty, and when protecting your peace might mean creating distance—or walking away entirely.

Jed also makes his feelings about Chick-fil-A extremely clear, because apparently no conversation about performative allyship is complete without waffle fries entering the chat.

Pride Month may end. The banners may come down. The corporations may quietly change their logos back. But LGBTQ+ people do not disappear for the other eleven months.

    So what happens then?

    …and THAT’s a pod convo.

  • Ep 8: and THAT's Red, White, and CHAOS! 🎇
    2026/07/08

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: John Jacob went on a date. 🤯

No, seriously. We were just as shocked as you are.

This week's Fourth of July episode starts with one innocent question: What's more American—a hot dog 🌭or a burger🍔?Before long, we're debating whether a hot dog is even a sandwich, making entirely too many jokes about a meat between two buns, questioning if sparklers ✨are secretly tiny weapons, and asking the question America has been too afraid to answer:

Is the Costco food court a restaurant... and can it actually count as a date?

    (According to Jed... absolutely.)

We also unpack John Jacob's unexpected Fourth of July date—despite the running joke that he may, in fact, hate men—build our ultimate summer survival pack, and even take a moment to talk about what we actually mean when we say "American." Because while we're celebrating the 🇺🇸United States this week, North America is a whole continent... which means our neighbors in 🇨🇦Canada and 🇲🇽Mexico are Americans too. Consider this your one educational moment before we immediately return to arguing about hot dogs.

Plus, we debut a brand-new game: and THAT's Red🔴, White⚪️ & WHY? Can we tell the difference between a Florida headline, a fake headline, or something involving fireworks? Honestly... Florida makes this way harder than it should be.

So grab a burger... or a hot dog (we're still arguing), throw on some sunscreen, refill your $1.50 Costco soda🥤, and join us for an episode full of summer chaos, explosive opinions🧨, questionable dating choices, unnecessary debates, and conversations that absolutely should've stayed at the BBQ.🍗

  • Ep 7: Who We Are Now, Who We’ve Always Been, Who We Will Always Be 🌈
    2026/06/29

The final chapter of our Pride Series is here.

Joined by Ryan Oelrich, we talk about religion, identity, marriage, finding yourself, sword swallowing (yes, the literal kind… and unfortunately the other kind too), and the winding road it takes to become comfortable in your own skin.

Over the last five episodes, we’ve explored what it means to be LGBTQ+ through the lens of P.R.I.D.E. — Pretending, Realizing, Identifying, Defining, and finally, Evolving. Together we’ve unpacked closets, survival mode, healing, chosen family, and the moments that shaped us into who we are today.

For the first time this series, Jed and John Jacob answer the question: What does Pride actually mean to us?

And maybe the answer isn’t found in a parade, a rainbow flag, or even the month of June.

Because when Pride Month ends, there are still eleven other months left in the year. LGBTQ+ people don’t disappear when the decorations come down. We’ve been here long before we had labels for ourselves. We’ve existed in every generation, every culture, every community, and we’ll be here long after we’re gone.

This episode is a reminder that while progress has been made, there are still places where our existence is criminalized, where our rights are limited, and where being ourselves comes with a cost. Even in our own backyards, there are people who would prefer we be quieter, smaller, easier to ignore.

But we refuse to make ourselves smaller because the cage is small.

This is a conversation about growth, authenticity, resilience, and the beautiful reality that who we are now, who we’ve always been, and who we will always be are all worthy of love.

    Happy Pride.

  • Ep 6: and THAT's Healing... unfortunately 🌈
    2026/06/22

Welcome back to and THAT’s a Pride Convo.

This week, we're tackling the part of Pride nobody really warns you about: healing... unfortunately.

After spending years pretending, realizing, identifying, surviving, and figuring out who we are, we're finally asking the hard questions. What habits keep sneaking back into our lives? How do we forgive younger versions of ourselves? Are boundaries protecting us, or are we pushing people away? And why does healing somehow feel like the most necessary thing we've ever hated?

Between surprisingly deep conversations, a few emotional moments, Yelp reviews for personal growth, and more sexual innuendos than a healing journey probably requires, this quickly became the deepest episode we've recorded in the Pride Series.

Because healing isn't always beautiful. Sometimes it's messy. Sometimes it's uncomfortable. Sometimes it's hilarious. And sometimes it's all three at the exact same time.

So grab a seat, grab a tissue, grab a therapist, and join us for and THAT’s healing... unfortunately.
