MacKay explores the vibrant community of Zorra‚Äîa small district in Oxford County, Ontario‚Äîsettled primarily by Highlanders from Sutherlandshire, Scotland, around 1830. With a population of about fourteen hundred, Zorra has seen over a hundred young men venture forth to make their mark on the world in the past four decades. MacKay, having had the privilege of knowing many of these individuals personally, shares their inspiring journeys. While not exhaustive, these unembellished accounts aim to motivate not only the young men of Zorra today but anyone facing lifes challenges.
