In his career, Zig has also developed wearable systems for monitoring and measuring running technique. Other biomechanics systems developed by Zig include technology for analyzing human movement including golf swings, pitching/throwing biomechanics, baseball/softball swing biomechanics, soccer kicking biomechanics, and basketball shooting biomechanics, and functional movement screening.

As an athlete, Zig competed collegiately in Track and Field earning All American honors in the Long Lump, 400M Hurdles and 110M Hurdles. He is the proud father of his daughter, Dominque, a graduate of Walter Cronkite School of Journalism school at Arizona State University.
