Episode 6: Is Your Bible Perfect?

What if one of the most common assumptions Christians make about the Bible isn't actually what the Bible says about itself?

In this episode, Jared and Bill tackle one of the most sensitive topics in modern evangelicalism: biblical inerrancy.

What does it mean when Christians say the Bible is "without error"? Where did that belief come from? And what happens when a pastor begins asking questions about it?

Jared shares why he believes Christians should have confidence in Scripture while also recognizing the realities of translation, transmission, and textual history. Together, Jared and Bill explore the difference between believing the Bible is inspired by God and believing every word in every modern translation is flawless.

    Along the way, they discuss:

    • What "inerrancy" actually means

    • Why the doctrine is relatively recent in church history

    • The original biblical manuscripts, and why we no longer have them

    • What "God-breathed" means in 2 Timothy 3:16

    • Translation challenges between Hebrew, Greek, and English

    • Why some pastors risk criticism simply for discussing these questions

    • Whether faith depends on having a perfect Bible

    • How Christians can trust Scripture without ignoring its complexities

This conversation isn't an attack on the Bible.

It's a conversation about how we understand the Bible, how we read it faithfully, and why asking honest questions shouldn't be considered a threat to faith.

Because sometimes the strongest faith isn't afraid of difficult questions.

🎙️ Hosted by Dr. Jared Huntsinger & Bill Huckaby

  • Episode 5: Can a Pastor Talk About LGBTQ Issues Without Getting Fired?
    2026/06/15

What happens when pastors ask questions they're not supposed to ask?

In this episode of You've Heard It Said, Jared and Bill tackle one of the most controversial subjects in modern Christianity: LGBTQ issues and the church's response. Why has this topic become such a defining issue in evangelical circles? Why do some questions feel off-limits? And why can a pastor's career be put at risk simply for having the conversation?

Rather than offering easy answers, Jared and Bill explore the tension between biblical conviction, cultural change, grace, truth, and the challenge of loving real people while wrestling with difficult questions.

This is not a debate. It's an honest conversation about faith, Scripture, church culture, and what happens when asking questions becomes risky.
