Every heart is producing something. The question is: Is your life barren, or is it bearing fruit?

In the Parable of the Sower, Jesus shows us that the problem is not with the Sower or the seed—the problem is the soil. The Word of God is still powerful, the grace of God is still available, and the Savior has not changed. But the condition of our hearts determines how we receive what God has given us.

Jesus challenges us to stop questioning the position of God and start confronting the condition of our hearts.

Are you putting off obedience until someday? Are you allowing trials to uproot your faith? Have the cares and riches of this world crowded Jesus out? Or are you receiving the Word, allowing it to take root, and bearing fruit?

The goal isn’t simply to hear the Word. It’s to let the Word change you.

So the question is simple:

Are you barren or bearing?

What happens when you realize you’re not as good as you thought you were? John 13–14 shows us Peter discovering the depth of his own weakness—and Jesus responding with a grace deeper than Peter could imagine. Jesus knows our failures, our sin, and our weakness, yet He still says, “I go to prepare a place for you.”

You may feel like your failures have put you outside the room, but Jesus has made a way for sinners to come home. He is not just a way, a truth, or a life—He is the way, the truth, and the life.

Life has a way of crushing us. We want Jesus to fix the circumstances, change the diagnosis, solve the problem, or bring back what we’ve lost. But sometimes our greatest problem isn’t what we can see—it’s what we believe.

In John 11, Jesus teaches Martha that faith doesn’t wait until everything makes sense. He calls her to believe before she sees the glory of God.

Jesus is not only interested in changing your eternity. He wants to transform your today.

Stop digging graves. Start bringing the dead places of your life to Jesus.

Stop living in hindsight. Start walking by faith.

Because with Jesus, you don’t have to see it before you believe it.

In John 10:11–21, Jesus declares, “I am the Good Shepherd.” But what does it really mean for Jesus to be your Shepherd?

To follow the Good Shepherd, we must confront three lies: I don’t need saving. I’m not worth knowing. I’m in charge of who’s going.

Jesus lays down His life because we desperately need a Savior. He knows us completely—even the broken, messy places we hope no one ever discovers. And He reminds us that salvation belongs to Him, not to us; He determines who belongs in His flock.

We can know the parts of Christianity without knowing Christ. We can settle for the prosthetic of religion instead of a living relationship with Jesus.

The Good Shepherd didn’t simply come to be admired, studied, or preached about.

He came to save His sheep, know His sheep, and lead His sheep.

A sheep trying to be a shepherd is a recipe for disaster. We’re often convinced that our problem is the pasture we’re in—we need a better marriage, a better job, better circumstances, or a greener pasture. But Jesus teaches us that our greatest need isn’t a better pasture; it’s the Good Shepherd.

In John 10, Jesus reveals Himself as both the Good Shepherd and the Door of the sheep. To follow Him, we must learn what it means to be His sheep: sheep say no, sheep say yes, and sheep will be blessed.

The Good Shepherd knows His sheep by name, leads them, protects them, provides for them, and gives them life abundantly. Sometimes His boundaries may feel restrictive, but His shepherding is always for our good.
