  • A Yes-Man at Work, a No-Man to Your Kids | Why You Can't Say No at Work S2:EP6
    2026/07/16

You'll drop everything for a text from your boss at 9 o'clock at night. But God's been nudging you on the same thing for months — maybe years — and you act like you can't hear Him.
That gap right there is what this episode is about.
In this episode of the Words of Encouragement Podcast, Frankie Lubin (Mr. Made Different) gets honest about the fear every working man carries: saying no at your job feels like career suicide. So you say yes to every shift, every project, every "hey, can you just" — and go home with nothing left for the very people you're doing it for. You become a yes-man at work and a no-man to your own kids. Yes to the overtime. No to the game. Yes to the boss. No to the practice, the PTA meeting, the things that matter in their world.
Frankie opens up about leaving his stable nine-to-five after his second daughter was born — the hour-and-a-half drive each way, three hours a day gone, the nights he thought he'd made a mistake, and the faint whisper of the Holy Spirit saying "bear with me, I got you." He talks about the deeper fear of the self-employed man who doesn't have one boss but a dozen — every client, every customer. And he admits the thing he couldn't shake: he'd wake at 3am with no problem for his job, but couldn't hold that same time for God.
Anchored in Colossians 3:23-24 — work as unto the Lord, not for human masters — and the story of Daniel, who gave the empire his excellence but never gave it his worship. Work hard. Be the best they got. But when the job asks for what belongs to God — your time, your integrity, your family, your soul — that's where you draw the line.
Your boss signs your check. He doesn't sign your breath.
You weren't made to be scared of a man. You were made different.

  • Why You Can't Say No (And What It's Costing You) S2:EP5
    2026/07/09

There's a word that's quietly draining you — and it's the nicest word you know. Yes.

You say it on reflex. To your boss, your friends, your coworkers — before they even finish asking. But when the Holy Spirit nudges you to do something small? You go quiet. In this episode, Frankie Lubin (Mr. Made Different) names the thing you've been doing your whole life: the guilt-yes. Saying yes with your mouth while your spirit says no — and paying for it in private.

He shows you what it's really costing you: your peace, your time, your body, your family, and the one nobody talks about — your yes to God. Because every guilt-yes you hand to people is a no you handed to Him. Frankie gets raw about a prayer he never offered at his old job, and a yes to God he finally gave while painting an old woman's house — a yes that blessed him more than anyone.

Anchored in Galatians 1:10 — you can't please people and fully serve God at the same time. It's time to take your yes back.

You weren't made to please them. You were Made Different.

  • f Father's Day Was Hard for You, Watch This | A Word for Men S2:EP3
    2026/06/25

Father's Day was Sunday. Everybody posted "best dad ever" — the cookouts, the cards, the whole thing. And then by Wednesday it all went quiet. The feed moved on. But some of us are still sitting in it.

This episode is for the brother Father's Day was hard for. Because Sunday wasn't a celebration for everybody — for a lot of men it was a reminder. Of who wasn't there. Of who they lost. Of a phone call they wanted to make and couldn't, or one they waited on that never came. And nobody checks on you after the holiday. Everybody talks to you before it comes — but the feeling doesn't end when the day ends.

Frankie Lubin (Mr. Made Different) almost didn't make this episode, thinking he was too late. But because everybody moved on so fast, he knew he had to. Because that hurt doesn't get stored in a calendar — it gets stored inside you. In your heart.

Frankie names it plainly: the man whose father passed and had nobody to call. The man estranged from a father who's still alive — grieving someone who's still breathing, with no funeral and no ceremony for that kind of loss. The man whose father was there but never really there — provided everything, said nothing. And the man who never knew his father at all, who doesn't even know what he's grieving because he never had it to lose.

And here's the word: you're a grown man and you're allowed to hurt about your father. The world told you to man up and not feel it. This episode tells you the opposite — bring it out. Because what you don't bring out, you act out.

Anchored in Psalm 34:18 — "the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" — this is a man-to-man reminder that God isn't far from you in your pain. He's closest to you right there in it.

If Father's Day hit different this year, you're not the only one. Pull up. This one's for you.

  • Tired Of Pretending: God Can't Heal the Man You're Pretending to Be S2:EP2
    2026/06/18

Pretending is a full-time job. No days off. No benefits. No retirement plan. And some of us have been clocking in since we were kids.
In this episode of the Words of Encouragement Podcast, Frankie Lubin (Mr. Made Different) continues the "Tired Of" series in honor of Men's Mental Health Month with an honest, man-to-man conversation about the mask so many of us wear — and what it's costing us to keep it on.
This one is for the man who answers "I'm good, I'm blessed" on autopilot. The one carrying financial pressure at 2am that nobody knows about. The one who's lonely in a crowd, with a thousand contacts in his phone and no one he can really call. The one still fighting a habit he testified was gone. The man who buries his anger and calls it "just a little irritated."
Frankie goes all the way back to Genesis — to Adam hiding in the garden — to show that pretending is the oldest move there is, and that shame has been teaching men to hide since the very beginning. He shares the story of DMX, a man who loved God out loud and fought real demons at the same time, and who became most real to people when he finally stopped pretending. And he opens up about his own struggle — honestly and without shame — because every man is carrying something, and the moment you get honest with yourself is the moment you can get honest with the world.
Anchored in Genesis 3, Psalm 32, and James 5:16, this episode lands on one challenge for the week: confess it to God first, then find one trusted person to carry it with you. Because God can't heal the man you're pretending to be — only the man you really are.
If you've been tired of holding the pose, this one's for you.

  • Tired of Being Tired: For the Man Who Shows Up for Everyone But Himself S2:EP1
    2026/06/11

I'm good. I'm blessed. I'm highly favored." You've said it this week. Maybe today. But what's the real answer — the one you only say when it's just you, God, and the road?

This episode is for the man who's tired of being tired. The one who wakes up before the house does because the list already started. The one everybody calls when something breaks, who never complains, who's gotten so good at carrying it that people stopped asking if he's okay — they just hand him more.

Frankie Lubin opens up about the exhaustion nobody names in men's spaces or church spaces: soul tired — the kind of tired that sleep doesn't fix. He walks through Galatians 6:9 slowly, and what he finds there isn't "push harder." Paul wasn't writing to men who were fine. He was writing to men who were already worn out. And the weariness isn't the failure — it's the warning light.

In this episode: why your value got tied to what you produce, the fear hiding underneath the strength, why receiving from God feels like weakness (and why it's actually stewardship), what Matthew 11:28 means when Jesus says "I will GIVE you rest," and the moment Frankie had to say no to advice that didn't sit right with his spirit.

You are not loved because of how much you carry. Sit with that one.

It's Men's Mental Health Month — share this with a brother who's running on fumes and calling it faithfulness.

00:00 — The question nobody waits for the answer to
02:15 — The man who shows up for everyone
06:40 — Soul tired: the tired that rest doesn't fix
09:30 — "If I share my problems, nobody's gonna listen"
    13:00 — Galatians 6:9 — read slowly
    17:45 — The enemy's weapon isn't temptation, it's timing
    21:10 — Learning to receive (Matthew 11:28)
25:00 — Made Different Moment: the episode I didn't want to shoot
29:00 — Prayer for the brother who feels behind

  • Attention vs Assignment: Are You Posting From a Wound or a Well?
    2026/05/28

What happens inside of you when your post does not perform the way you thought it would?

In this episode of the Words of Encouragement Podcast, Frankie Lubin, also known as Mr. Made Different, sits down with co-host Alexis Gillespie for a real conversation about social media, content strategy, validation, identity, and purpose.

This is not just about the algorithm. This is about the deeper question underneath your content: are you posting from a wound or from a well? Are you creating because you have something real to give, or are you secretly looking for likes, views, and comments to confirm your value?

Frankie and Alexis talk about the pressure to go viral, the temptation to chase attention, the danger of compromising your assignment, and how easy it is to let low views make you question yourself instead of just questioning the content. They also unpack what it means to stay consistent, stay faithful, and keep creating without letting social media become your mirror.

If you are a creator, entrepreneur, podcaster, coach, influencer, or someone trying to build online without losing yourself, this conversation is for you.

You don’t need more validation. You need identity.

In this episode, we talk about:
    Social media validation
    Content strategy vs identity
    Posting from insecurity
    Attention vs assignment
Why low views affect your confidence
    Chasing the algorithm
    Christian content creation
    Purpose-driven content
    Building without compromising
Staying consistent when nobody is clapping
