  • Uncaging Cronehood: Redefining Aging for Ourselves
    2025/08/17

Send us a text. We'd love to hear from you!

Welcome to episode 2 of season 4 of the Woman Uncaged podcast! In this episode Laura and Linda dive into uncaged cronehood, that developmental stage in a woman's life that occurs between midlife and elderhood. Often misunderstood, pathologized, or entirely ignored societally, we explore another possibility for this phase of life. What if it is an opportunity for women to uncage themselves more fully? To unhook from the collective culture so that we can do more of our work outside of the dominant patriarchal paradigm? To step out of performance and step into presence?

This time of life is often framed as one solely of loss; but if we turn towards ourselves and one another, it can be one of tremendous growth, joy, and courage. When there are fewer cultural expectations, we truly get to make it our own.

  • Unworking the Dream: Freedom in a Post-Job World
    2025/08/08

Send us a text. We'd love to hear from you!

In this episode of Woman Uncaged, we explore the radical idea of a post-job world. Inspired by the rise of AI and automation, we unpack what it could mean—socially, economically, emotionally—to live in a world where traditional jobs are no longer the default. Rather than succumbing to fear or dystopian visions, we wonder aloud: what if this shift opened the door to more creativity, rest, equity, and community? What if universal basic income or healthcare became the foundation for a society not built around exhaustion and survival, but around purpose, care, and possibility? From unschooling roots to feminist reflections on work, identity, and worth, this episode invites listeners to reimagine what it means to be human when no one owns your hours.

  • Matriarchy: The Ultimate Uncaging?
    2025/06/18

Send us a text. We'd love to hear from you!

Welcome to the Woman Uncaged Podcast Season 3, Episode 17!

In this episode, we ask a bold and rarely explored question: What would life be like if we lived in a matriarchy?

We dive into what that word really means, beyond the idea of simply putting women in charge, and explore the deeper values it might center: interdependence, collaboration, reciprocity, and community.

We imagine what could be possible if we stepped away from the extractive, isolating norms of patriarchy and moved toward something more vibrant and life-affirming. What would shift if we truly believed that life is sacred? What would change if we honored the natural world, prioritized relationships, and pooled our resources?

We also discuss the hidden costs of things we take for granted, like fencing off our homes, and the radical possibilities in gift economies and creative, collective living. This conversation is an invitation to reimagine the rules we live by and to dream into a future where we are all free and uncaged.

  • Are you mothering your man?

Send us a text. We'd love to hear from you!

Welcome to the Woman Uncaged Podcast Season 3, Episode 16!

For those of us in heterosexual relationships, it can be very easy to get into the habit of mothering our men. It's not only socially acceptable, it's applauded! In this episode of Woman Uncaged, we explore how the mothering energy can be misplaced in our romantic relationships, what distinguishes mothering from simply caring, and what we lose out on as women as a result. We dive into over-functioning, how outdated gender roles can still play a part, and why women can get stuck being the "general manager" of the family. Listen in on a conversation that questions society's messages around roles and relationships, and invites uncaged women to turn towards what remains untended within themselves.
