This week on The Worst Movie Podcast, Ade and Aaron kick off their “Horrible Horror” series with Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey (2023). Pooh Bear and Piglet trade in honey pots for meat cleavers after Christopher Robin heads off to college, and the result is somehow even worse than you’re imagining.
Shot in just ten days for under $100,000, this slasher manages to turn one of childhood’s most beloved franchises into a rubber-mask gore fest. The guys break down everything from Pooh crying honey, to Piglet dragging around a sledgehammer he can barely lift, to characters so clueless they deserve every ridiculous death scene.
With gratuitous nudity, mis-matched accents, and a storyline that barely qualifies as a movie, this un-bear-able horror still made $7.7 million and launched an entire “Poohniverse.” Ade and Aaron marvel at its baffling success, laugh at its endless nonsense, and pitch storylines that would’ve made much better movies.
So grab your jar of honey, cancel that Airbnb in the Hundred Acre Wood, and join the hosts as they try to survive the movie that has A. A. Milne turning in his grave.
