Carson Olshansky became a niche internet micro celebrity in 2022 after posting some of their jokes on TikTok... but three years before that, in 2019, they took an improv class at the Brooklyn Comedy Collective, where they became friends with me!

On this episode, we discuss their childhood in Brooklyn, following in both their parents' creative footsteps, and how they discovered their trans identity during a global pandemic.

Carson co-hosts the monthly show Friendly's Comedy at C'mon Everybody in Brooklyn

  • Max Fine
    2025/04/04

Recorded over a year ago, this is the second episode I ever recorded for the podcast. We talk about Max's origins in Atlanta, being a southern Jew, his struggles with addiction, and friendship with the late great Kenny Deforest.

We also talk NBA a little bit, this is from over a year ago so some of our takes are a bit dated.

Tommy Bayer joins the pod to talk about his artsy midwest family, leaving the country for the first time at 27, comedic influences and basketball!

We recorded this days after the infamous Luka Dončić trade so we spent a decent amount of time talking about that.

  • Henry Sir
    2025/03/14

This was a really fun episode with a lot of great conversations.

Henry Sir (Comedy Central! Don't Tell! Mr. Sir!) joins the pod to talk about the differences between the US and Canada, being a former college athlete, and the state of comedy and the world today. Are we living through America's swan song?

We also get into it about our shared connection as members of the dead brother's club. Henry's brother, Ben died at 38 and my brother, Reuben died at 20. We talk about how experiencing that type of loss can change your perspective on life.

Yesterday marked what would have been Reuben's 33rd birthday so it felt fitting to release this episode today.

You can watch Henry's new special "Mr. Sir" on YouTube:

    2025/02/28

One of the first "test episodes" we recorded. It was too fun to not release. Carl Sonnefeld is one of my first friends in comedy. We sat down in the basement of a beautiful apartment where I was dog sitting to talk about Vermont, hiking the Appalachian trail, and his brief college football career.
