Nic from the True Crime Garage podcast joins me to discuss the case of Judy Martins. On the night of May 23, 1978, Judy went out with friends for some fun. With Memorial Day Weekend approaching, she had plans to travel with her friends. According to police, Judy left her friends' dormitory at Kent State University to walk a short distance back to her own dorm. That would be the last time she was seen. Since she lived alone, she wasn't reported missing for more than a day. The investigation into her disappearance never gained traction and eventually went cold. Sadly, Judy's parents have since passed away, and the case remains unsolved to this day. However, her brother and sister are determined to see the case resolved and believe it is still possible. COLD CASE: Investigators have announced that they have solved the 1976 murder of a 15-year-old girl and her unborn baby in western Pennsylvania, thanks to a DNA match found in an ancestry database. On Wednesday, the Pennsylvania State Police, along with Carbon County District Attorney Michael Greek, revealed the arrest of 63-year-old Luis Sierra, who has been charged with the homicide of Evelyn Colon that occurred 45 years ago." • Sarah Pryor & Cathy Malcolmson
    2025/11/14
Who Killed Sarah Pryor? I want to thank a listener for suggesting this story. I have done episodes on the case of Molly Bish and Holly Pirrainen, and the listener suggested I look into the case of Sarah Pryor. Another case connected loosely to the Pryor case is that of 16-year-old Cathy Malcolmson. Cathy was working at the IGA supermarket when she was abducted on her way home from work. The listener, who is from the Massachusetts area where these abductions took place, said there had been some talk that Sarah’s case may also be connected to Molly and Holly’s cases. I decided to look into the Pryor mystery and was surprised by what I found. One of the similarities I began to see was the area's geography and how close these incidents took place to one another. Sarah was taken an hour from where Holly went missing, but all three of these cases occurred just off the Massachusetts Turnpike. It may be a stretch to think these cases could be connected, but it doesn’t mean the idea should be discounted. Some books and documentaries talk about how the construction of the interstate enabled a new type of killer.
