In Episode 5 of the Walking in Discernment series, we’re exposing The Voice of Anxiety.

Anxiety can sound like “What if?”, “You need to control this,” “Figure it out now,” “Just escape,” or even “Try harder—you’re still not enough.” And if we don’t recognize where those thoughts are coming from, they can begin affecting our relationships, decisions, peace, confidence, and even our walk with God.

In this episode, I also share my personal experience with anxiety, how it once felt like torment, and what helped me learn to recognize that voice and take those thoughts captive.

We’ll talk about anxiety and control, relationships, escapism, maladaptive daydreaming, perfectionism, waiting on God, forgiveness, surrender, and the pressure to feel “Christian enough.”

IMPORTANT: This episode discusses anxiety from a spiritual and emotional perspective. If you struggle with an anxiety disorder, panic attacks, trauma, depression, intrusive thoughts, or another mental-health condition, seeking professional support does not mean you lack faith. God can work through prayer, Scripture, counseling, doctors, therapy, and appropriate treatment.

What happens when you stop casually thinking about the cross and actually dwell on what Jesus did for you?

For years, I knew Jesus died for me—but when I began intentionally spending time thinking about His crucifixion, something changed in my walk with God.

In this episode, I share 8 powerful benefits of dwelling on the crucifixion and how the cross transformed the way I see salvation, God's love, sin, spiritual warfare, forgiveness, suffering, gratitude, and my identity in Christ.

The cross helped me walk away from addiction, rejection, lust, people-pleasing, fear, and the need for validation because I finally understood who I belong to and the price Jesus paid for me.

Don't just remember the cross. Dwell on it.

“The message of the cross…to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” — 1 Corinthians 1:18

  • READY TO GIVE UP? The Voice of Defeat | Walking in Discernment Ep. 4 - Audio Version
    2026/08/19

    Send us Fan Mail

Have you ever reached a place where you wanted to give up—not because God told you to stop, but because you were tired of fighting?

Maybe you've prayed, tried, waited, stayed consistent, and still haven't seen the results you expected. Maybe another battle showed up right after you finally made it through the last one. Or maybe you've been stuck in the same circumstances for so long that you've started believing, “This is just who I am.”

In Episode 4 of the Walking in Discernment series, we're exposing the voice of defeat and learning how to recognize when discouragement is trying to convince us to quit before God has told us the battle is over.

We're talking about four voices defeat often uses:

Throughout this episode, we'll look at Jairus, David and Goliath, Elijah, Joshua, Moses, Gideon, and Nathanael to see how the voice of defeat appeared in Scripture—and how God answered it.

When Jairus was told his daughter had died, the message was essentially: Why bother anymore? But Jesus told him, “Don't be afraid; just believe.” (Mark 5:36)

When David stood before Goliath, he understood that there was a cause worth fighting for.

When Elijah became exhausted after an incredible victory, God showed us that feeling depleted after a battle doesn't mean everything is over.

When Moses and Gideon focused on why they weren't qualified, God reminded them that He would be with them.

And when Nathanael asked, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” we see how easy it is to allow someone's circumstances or background to determine what we believe can come from them.

One of the greatest weapons against defeat is remembrance.

Joshua 12 gives us a list of defeated kings—and sometimes we need to make our own list.

Remember the battles God already brought you through.

Remember the prayers He already answered.

Remember the doors He already opened.

Remember what you thought you would never overcome.

Remember who you were before God brought you this far.

Don't let the king standing in front of you make you forget all the kings God already defeated behind you.

If this message encouraged you, share it with someone who has been feeling defeated or ready to give up. Send us Fan Mail The Voice of Betrayal: Is It Discernment or Are You Expecting to Be Hurt Again? | Walking in Discernment Ep. 3Have you ever been betrayed so deeply that you started expecting everyone else to eventually hurt you too?Betrayal has a voice. It says:“Here we go again.”“You can’t trust anybody.”“You’re better off alone.”“Don’t let anybody play with you again.”And sometimes, after being hurt repeatedly, that voice can become so convincing that we mistake it for discernment from God.In Episode 3 of Walking in Discernment, we’re talking about The Voice of Betrayal and what happens when past hurt begins speaking into new relationships, friendships, workplaces, churches, and opportunities.I share my own testimony of experiencing betrayal throughout my life—including friendships, relationships, family, and the workplace—and how God had to show me that just because something happened before doesn’t automatically mean it is happening again. In this episode, we talk about:• How betrayal can disguise itself as discernment• Recognizing familiar patterns without automatically assuming the same outcome• The difference between real red flags and red flags created by fear• How unrealistic expectations can make disappointment feel like betrayal• Why expecting people to become who you want them to be can damage relationships• Why betrayal makes isolation feel safer• Learning to trust people again without abandoning boundaries• How betrayal can make you defensive, angry, and unwilling to extend grace• The mental “replay” of betrayal, lies, broken promises, and conversations• Unforgiveness and the root of bitterness• How to forgive someone who betrayed you• How to stop checking social media and searching for answers• How to take your thoughts captive• How to hear God’s voice when your wounds are speaking loudly• How Jesus responded to Judas and what His betrayal can teach us• Healing without becoming hardened• Loving people as individuals instead of making them pay for what someone else didBetrayal may have taught you to watch your back, question people's motives, isolate yourself, or expect the worst. But healing doesn't mean ignoring red flags. It means learning to discern without allowing your wounds to make the decision for you.You can have boundaries and still have a soft heart. You can pay attention without becoming paranoid. You can recognize familiar patterns without assuming everybody has the same intentions. And you can forgive without giving everybody unlimited access to your life.📖 Scriptures discussed:Matthew 7:161 John 4:11 Corinthians 13:5Ephesians 2:10Ecclesiastes 4:9–10Colossians 3:13James 1:19Hebrews 12:152 Corinthians 10:5Philippians 4:8Ephesians 4:32Philippians 2:13If this episode speaks to you, subscribe, share it with someone healing from betrayal, and leave a comment:What has betrayal been saying to you that you now realize may not be the voice of God?This is Walking in Discernment: Episode 3 — The Voice of Betrayal.Betrayal can teach you a lesson without becoming your teacher. • Is This Fear... Or God? | Walking in Discernment Episode 2 | Hearing God's Voice - Audio Version

Walking in Discernment | Episode 2: Fear's Voice vs. God's Voice | Is This Fear... Or God?

How do you know if you're hearing God's voice... or the voice of fear?

In Episode 2 of the Walking in Discernment series, we explore one of the most common voices Christians struggle to recognize: fear.

The Bible says in 2 Timothy 1:7 that God has not given us the spirit of fear, yet fear often disguises itself as wisdom, caution, or even discernment. In this episode, we'll compare fear's voice with God's voice so you can begin making decisions rooted in faith instead of fear.

    We'll discuss:

    ✔ Fear of control
    ✔ Fear of lack
    ✔ Fear of loss
✔ Fear of death and grief
    ✔ Fear of change
✔ Fear of inadequacy and failure
✔ Fear of people and their opinions

Each topic is grounded in Scripture, practical examples, and biblical encouragement to help you recognize fear, surrender it to God, and walk confidently in His truth.

If you've ever wondered whether a thought is coming from fear or from God, this episode will help you test it against God's Word and grow in biblical discernment.

Walking in Discernment | Episode 1: Whose Voice Are You Listening To? | Hearing God's Voice, Healing & Spiritual Discernment

Have you ever wondered if you're hearing God's voice, your own thoughts, fear, trauma, or the enemy?

In the very first episode of the Walking in Discernment series, we dive into one of the most important questions every Christian should ask:

Whose voice am I listening to?

There are many voices competing for our attention every day. Fear, shame, trauma, the world, friends, false teachers, the enemy—and ultimately, the voice of God. Learning to recognize the difference is one of the greatest keys to spiritual maturity, emotional healing, and walking confidently in God's will.

    In this episode, we'll explore:
✨ How fear disguises itself as wisdom.
✨ The difference between conviction and condemnation.
✨ How trauma can affect the way we hear and respond.
✨ Why shame keeps us trapped in our past.
✨ How the enemy twists God's truth.
✨ How false teaching can sound spiritual while leading us away from Christ.
✨ Why God's voice always brings truth, peace, healing, and direction.
✨ How to grow in biblical discernment through the Holy Spirit.

    If you've been praying:

    • "How do I hear God's voice?"
    • "How do I know if it's God speaking?"
    • "Is this conviction or condemnation?"
    • "Why do I struggle with fear?"
    • "Can God heal emotional wounds?"
    • "How do I overcome trauma through Christ?"
    • "How do I know if I'm being deceived?"
    • "How do I walk in discernment?"

    This episode is for you.

My prayer is that this series won't simply teach you about discernment—it will help you know Jesus more deeply, recognize His voice more clearly, and experience the healing that comes from walking in His truth.

    📖 Key Scriptures:
    John 10:27 • Matthew 11:28–30 • John 16:13 • James 4:7 • Revelation 12:10 • John 8:44 • Romans 12:2 • Romans 8:1 • Matthew 7:15–20 • 1 Peter 5:8
