  • The Voice of Anxiety: How to Recognize It & Take Your Thoughts Captive Walking in Discernment Series Ep. 5

In Episode 5 of the Walking in Discernment series, we’re exposing The Voice of Anxiety.

Anxiety can sound like “What if?”, “You need to control this,” “Figure it out now,” “Just escape,” or even “Try harder—you’re still not enough.” And if we don’t recognize where those thoughts are coming from, they can begin affecting our relationships, decisions, peace, confidence, and even our walk with God.

In this episode, I also share my personal experience with anxiety, how it once felt like torment, and what helped me learn to recognize that voice and take those thoughts captive.

We’ll talk about anxiety and control, relationships, escapism, maladaptive daydreaming, perfectionism, waiting on God, forgiveness, surrender, and the pressure to feel “Christian enough.”

IMPORTANT: This episode discusses anxiety from a spiritual and emotional perspective. If you struggle with an anxiety disorder, panic attacks, trauma, depression, intrusive thoughts, or another mental-health condition, seeking professional support does not mean you lack faith. God can work through prayer, Scripture, counseling, doctors, therapy, and appropriate treatment.

  • 8 Powerful Benefits of Dwelling on the Crucifixion - Audio Version

What happens when you stop casually thinking about the cross and actually dwell on what Jesus did for you?

For years, I knew Jesus died for me—but when I began intentionally spending time thinking about His crucifixion, something changed in my walk with God.

In this episode, I share 8 powerful benefits of dwelling on the crucifixion and how the cross transformed the way I see salvation, God's love, sin, spiritual warfare, forgiveness, suffering, gratitude, and my identity in Christ.

The cross helped me walk away from addiction, rejection, lust, people-pleasing, fear, and the need for validation because I finally understood who I belong to and the price Jesus paid for me.

Don't just remember the cross. Dwell on it.

“The message of the cross…to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” — 1 Corinthians 1:18

  • READY TO GIVE UP? The Voice of Defeat | Walking in Discernment Ep. 4 - Audio Version
    2026/08/19

Have you ever reached a place where you wanted to give up—not because God told you to stop, but because you were tired of fighting?

Maybe you've prayed, tried, waited, stayed consistent, and still haven't seen the results you expected. Maybe another battle showed up right after you finally made it through the last one. Or maybe you've been stuck in the same circumstances for so long that you've started believing, “This is just who I am.”

In Episode 4 of the Walking in Discernment series, we're exposing the voice of defeat and learning how to recognize when discouragement is trying to convince us to quit before God has told us the battle is over.

We're talking about four voices defeat often uses:

Throughout this episode, we'll look at Jairus, David and Goliath, Elijah, Joshua, Moses, Gideon, and Nathanael to see how the voice of defeat appeared in Scripture—and how God answered it.

When Jairus was told his daughter had died, the message was essentially: Why bother anymore? But Jesus told him, “Don't be afraid; just believe.” (Mark 5:36)

When David stood before Goliath, he understood that there was a cause worth fighting for.

When Elijah became exhausted after an incredible victory, God showed us that feeling depleted after a battle doesn't mean everything is over.

When Moses and Gideon focused on why they weren't qualified, God reminded them that He would be with them.

And when Nathanael asked, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” we see how easy it is to allow someone's circumstances or background to determine what we believe can come from them.

One of the greatest weapons against defeat is remembrance.

Joshua 12 gives us a list of defeated kings—and sometimes we need to make our own list.

Remember the battles God already brought you through.

Remember the prayers He already answered.

Remember the doors He already opened.

Remember what you thought you would never overcome.

Remember who you were before God brought you this far.

Don't let the king standing in front of you make you forget all the kings God already defeated behind you.

If this message encouraged you, share it with someone who has been feeling defeated or ready to give up.
