Welcome to the House Tour….I’ll meet you on the Pelvic Floor.

_____

1 in 4 women and 1 in 12 men will experience some form of pelvic floor dysfunction in their lifetime.

It's not just a postpartum problem or an "aging" problem. Rates of pelvic floor dysfunction among girls as young as 10 to 14 are climbing, and athletes in high-intensity sports — runners, gymnasts, CrossFitters, dancers — are showing up with symptoms most of them didn't know had a name.

____

Join me, Katie Thompson, as I sit down with Dr. Uchenna "UC" Ossai, DPT, WCS — pelvic floor physical therapist and founder of YouSeeLogic — for an unfiltered walkthrough of what your pelvic floor actually does, why it fails more often than anyone talks about, and who's most at risk and why.

We dig into what pelvic floor dysfunction actually looks and feels like, why so many symptoms get dismissed or laughed off, how sport, pregnancy, and plain old bad habits (holding your pee) all factor in, and what real prevention and treatment look like.

This episode is about knowing your own house: foundation to roof and learning how to take care of the floor everything else stands on.
