  • The Stones Are Speaking
    2026/04/21

Rich and Camille sat down with Oliver Talley and got into something really interesting. This isn’t just about a film. It’s about everything behind it. The people, the experience, the level of talent, and what it actually takes to bring something meaningful to life.

When you start peeling it back, you realize pretty quickly this is not your typical project. You’re talking about a team with decades of experience in journalism, documentary filmmaking, and storytelling at the highest level. Emmy nominations, national awards, even Pulitzer-level work. These are people who have spent their lives telling stories that matter, and now they’re bringing that same mindset into this.

What makes this conversation really good is the why. Why this story. Why now. And why it matters to people here in Dallas and beyond. There’s something different when a story is told with intention, and you can feel that in this one.

It also gives you a new appreciation for everything that goes into it. The writing, the editing, the cinematography, the sound, the music. All of it. The stuff most people never think about when they’re watching something, but it’s exactly what makes it hit the way it does.

This one goes a little deeper than usual. It’s about storytelling, but it’s also about purpose. And honestly, it makes you look at things just a little differently after you hear it.

  • How a Neighborhood Turned Design Into Impact
    2026/04/15

This week on What In East Dallas Is Going On?!, Rich and Camille sit down with Skyler Colman and Shannon Ramirezto talk about something that’s become a staple in East Dallas, the White Rock Home Tour.

What started back in 2006 as a small idea from a group of Hexter Elementary PTA parents has grown into something much bigger. At its core, it was about two things. A love for mid century modern homes and a desire to support their neighborhood school.

We get into the story behind those iconic Ju-Nel homes designed by Lyle Rowley and Jack Wilson. The kind of homes that stop you mid drive. Low rooflines, open spaces, natural light pouring in. The kind of architecture that makes you feel something.

But this isn’t just about homes.

Every dollar raised goes right back into Hexter Elementary, a National Blue Ribbon school that’s doing some incredible things for kids right here in our community. From technology to literacy programs to campus improvements, this tour is about investing in something that actually matters.

It’s a conversation about architecture, yes. But more than that, it’s about community, purpose, and what can happen when people decide to show up for something bigger than themselves.

    Give it a listen.

  • More Than a Home Tour
    2026/04/07

Camille and Rich sat down with the people behind the Swiss Avenue Historic District Mother's Day Home Tour, and honestly… this one surprised us.

We always knew it was cool. Beautiful homes, history, all of that. But when you really get into the why behind it, it hits a little different.

This isn’t just a home tour.

It’s a look into one of the most unique neighborhoods in Dallas, going all the way back to Robert S. Munger and his vision to build something ahead of its time. The first paved street in Dallas. A planned neighborhood before zoning was even a thing. There’s a story here that most people don’t even realize they’re walking through.

We sat down with current president Bob Bracken and talked about everything happening around the tour. And there’s a lot more going on than you’d expect.

If you’ve ever driven down Swiss and wondered about those homes, or if you’ve been to the tour before, this one will give you a whole new perspective.

  • Kyle Armstrong, President and CEO of Baylor Scott & White: The Future of Healthcare
    2026/03/03

Camille and Rich sat down with Kyle Armstrong, President and CEO of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, at the corporate offices for a conversation about leadership, responsibility and where healthcare is headed.

Kyle is leading one of the most respected academic medical centers in the country, while also serving as president of Baylor Scott & White’s North Texas Central Region. We talked about guiding a major health system through the COVID pandemic, building strong teams, earning national recognition, and continuing to push innovation forward in patient care.

This wasn’t just about titles. It was about mission. It was about serving North Texas well. And it was about what healthcare looks like years from now.

We also brought it back to the neighborhood. Kyle is an East Dallas resident, so we couldn’t resist asking about his favorite local spots and what community means to him.

Big responsibility. Local roots. A thoughtful conversation about the future of healthcare.

    2026/02/24

Camille and Rich sit down with Dallas legend Liz Mikel to talk about her extraordinary career and her powerful new role as the lone performer in Where We Stand at the Dallas Theater Center.

A Texas native, Liz has been performing since childhood. Trained from age six by Ann Williams of the Dallas Black Dance Theatre and later mentored by Curtis King of The Black Academy of Arts and Letters, she has built a career that spans local, national, and international stages. Dallas audiences know her well. Over the years she has performed at Theatre Three, Dallas Children’s Theater, WaterTower Theatre, Casa Mañana, The Majestic Theatre, Jubilee Theatre and more. Mercy or justice. Redemption or consequence. The choice belongs to you.

The 70 minute production has no intermission and is suitable for all ages, with audience members 12 and up most likely to fully appreciate the experience. Stay Late conversations after every performance will be led by Liz herself.

  • The Boats At Sunrise - How East Dallas Found Rowing
    2026/02/10

What started with a couple Highland Park high school kids quietly putting boats in the water has grown into one of the most unique athletic communities in Dallas.

On this episode, Camille and Rich sit down with Austin Brooks, better known as AJ, Executive Director of Dallas United Crew. We talk about the surprising history of rowing in Dallas, how the sport found its home here, and why White Rock Lake became the backdrop for something much bigger than competition.

AJ’s story alone is wild. Undefeated collegiate career at the University of Washington, world record in the Varsity 8+, Team USA appearances, and a Henley Royal Regatta championship. Now he’s in Dallas building a program designed for everyone, not just elite athletes.

Dallas United Crew has grown from a single high school team into a full nonprofit urban water sports center serving athletes of all ages and backgrounds. The mission is simple but powerful. Build character, resilience, and community through movement on the water.

This conversation goes way beyond rowing. It is about access, opportunity, and how a city builds identity around something most people never expected to be part of Dallas culture.

You will never look at the lake the same way again.
