Rich and Camille sat down with Oliver Talley and got into something really interesting. This isn’t just about a film. It’s about everything behind it. The people, the experience, the level of talent, and what it actually takes to bring something meaningful to life.

When you start peeling it back, you realize pretty quickly this is not your typical project. You’re talking about a team with decades of experience in journalism, documentary filmmaking, and storytelling at the highest level. Emmy nominations, national awards, even Pulitzer-level work. These are people who have spent their lives telling stories that matter, and now they’re bringing that same mindset into this.

What makes this conversation really good is the why. Why this story. Why now. And why it matters to people here in Dallas and beyond. There’s something different when a story is told with intention, and you can feel that in this one.

It also gives you a new appreciation for everything that goes into it. The writing, the editing, the cinematography, the sound, the music. All of it. The stuff most people never think about when they’re watching something, but it’s exactly what makes it hit the way it does.

This one goes a little deeper than usual. It’s about storytelling, but it’s also about purpose. And honestly, it makes you look at things just a little differently after you hear it.

  • How a Neighborhood Turned Design Into Impact
    2026/04/15

This week on What In East Dallas Is Going On?!, Rich and Camille sit down with Skyler Colman and Shannon Ramirezto talk about something that’s become a staple in East Dallas, the White Rock Home Tour.

What started back in 2006 as a small idea from a group of Hexter Elementary PTA parents has grown into something much bigger. At its core, it was about two things. A love for mid century modern homes and a desire to support their neighborhood school.

We get into the story behind those iconic Ju-Nel homes designed by Lyle Rowley and Jack Wilson. The kind of homes that stop you mid drive. Low rooflines, open spaces, natural light pouring in. The kind of architecture that makes you feel something.

But this isn’t just about homes.

Every dollar raised goes right back into Hexter Elementary, a National Blue Ribbon school that’s doing some incredible things for kids right here in our community. From technology to literacy programs to campus improvements, this tour is about investing in something that actually matters.

It’s a conversation about architecture, yes. But more than that, it’s about community, purpose, and what can happen when people decide to show up for something bigger than themselves.

    Give it a listen.

  • More Than a Home Tour
    2026/04/07

Camille and Rich sat down with the people behind the Swiss Avenue Historic District Mother's Day Home Tour, and honestly… this one surprised us.

We always knew it was cool. Beautiful homes, history, all of that. But when you really get into the why behind it, it hits a little different.

This isn’t just a home tour.

It’s a look into one of the most unique neighborhoods in Dallas, going all the way back to Robert S. Munger and his vision to build something ahead of its time. The first paved street in Dallas. A planned neighborhood before zoning was even a thing. There’s a story here that most people don’t even realize they’re walking through.

We sat down with current president Bob Bracken and talked about everything happening around the tour. And there’s a lot more going on than you’d expect.

If you’ve ever driven down Swiss and wondered about those homes, or if you’ve been to the tour before, this one will give you a whole new perspective.
