This week on What In East Dallas Is Going On?!, Camille and Rich sit down with Kathleen M. LaValle, President and CEO of Dallas CASA, for a conversation that is emotional, eye opening, and incredibly important.
For more than four decades, Dallas CASA has been standing up for some of the most vulnerable children in our community. Children who have experienced abuse, neglect, and uncertainty. Through the power of trained volunteer advocates, Dallas CASA helps give these children a voice and a chance at a safer, more stable future.
Kathleen shares the history behind CASA, how the organization started, and the real impact these advocates are making every single day across Dallas County. Camille and Rich also talk with Kathleen about the child welfare system, the emotional realities many children face, and how ordinary people can step into extraordinary roles by becoming advocates.
In 2025 alone, more than 1,100 volunteers helped advocate for over 2,300 children in protective care right here in Dallas.
This is one of those conversations that stays with you. It is about community, humanity, and what can happen when people decide a child’s story matters.
