For Day 18 of 31 Days of Horror, I’m revisiting Oren Peli’s Paranormal Activity — the found-footage nightmare that turns watching two people sleep into a seriously stressful experience.

I’m talking Katie and Micah, the fixed bedroom camera, the escalating disturbances, and those quiet moments that have you searching every corner of the screen. From a tiny movement in the doorway to Katie standing beside the bed, this film makes an ordinary home feel horribly unsafe — while Micah makes decisions that leave me shouting at the fucking screen.

My rating: 8/10.

31 days. 31 horror movies. Good luck getting any fucking sleep.

I’m talking about the brilliant performances, Carrie’s relationship with her mother, the modern-day bullying, and why I love Flanagan’s approach to horror. From the emotional build-up to the familiar nightmare of prom night, this version made me care about Carrie before everything went to hell.

My rating: 9/10.

31 days. A television detour. Eight episodes of things going horribly fucking wrong.

An empty London. A devastating infection. And these fuckers don’t shuffle — they run. 🩸

For Day 16 of 31 Days of Horror, I’m revisiting Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later — the brutal survival nightmare that makes waking up alone feel terrifying before the infected even appear.

I’m talking Cillian Murphy, Naomie Harris, Brendan Gleeson, the deserted streets, and the relentless threat of the Rage virus. From its raw visual style to its bleak look at what people become when society collapses, this film finds horror in both the infected and the survivors.

My rating: 9/10.

31 days. 31 horror movies. If you hear running, fucking move.
