#027: So You Want to Can Food? Where do you begin?

Most popular comments when showing home-canned goods? --> "I wish I knew how to can!" or "I want to learn how to can!" While nothing would thrill me more than to make a course on this (I'm contemplating it, but it's a big project!), the best time to start gathering supplies is NOW. Fall is upon us, people are clearing out garages and closets, canning supplies aren't as in high-demand and purchasing/finding what you need in small increments makes canning affordable, not overwhelming! Come spring, you'll be ready.

We talked about where to begin looking for supplies, the whats of pressure canners, jars, essential tools, accessories, canning books and where you can begin to learn and increase your confidence. Come spring I want you to be able to grab some strawberries and JUMP IN to your first canning batch. (Jumping in is the gateway to all things HOMEMADE.)

**NOTE**: I forgot to mention: 16/23/etc. quart canner is the amount of water the canner holds, not actual quart jars it holds.
