  • Episode 13: It’s Not a Game, It’s a Lesbian Relationship Check-In
    2025/07/30

In this episode, we do what all emotionally available lesbians eventually do: talk about our love languages and then emotionally unravel over a card game (again). We’re back with We’re Not Really Strangers (because once clearly wasn’t enough) asking each other deep, chaotic and occasionally unhinged questions. Join us for queer vulnerability, oversharing and an unofficial round of gay couples’ therapy disguised as content.

  • Episode 12: When Nutrition Becomes an Afterthought
    2025/07/23

In this episode, Lesley Bean makes her long-awaited return!

Luce shares some personal reflections on their recent move back home, and how sometimes taking a step back is exactly what you need to move forwards.

We chat about our recent trip to the Scotland Vegan Festival - Toria’s first proper vegan event - and the conversations it sparked about food, joy and intentionality. Toria opens up about losing her spark around meals and how easy it is to fall into the trap of treating nutrition as an afterthought, something so many people (especially busy, burnt-out professionals) can relate to.

We also talk about fuelling properly for training, and why under-eating isn't just a performance issue... it's a quality of life one.

In part two, we respond to some recent negativity around our message, and address the assumptions many coaches make about what fitness should look like.

We also dive into why sexuality, gender identity, trauma, and neurodivergence shape our experience of the gym, and why good coaching has to be about more than macros and reps.

  • Episode 11: Routines, Resistance and the Neurodivergent Struggle
    2025/07/16

In this episode of Vegains & Vagitarians, we get into the chaos of everyday life... the kind of small, stupid stuff that can derail your energy, routines and vibe.

Luce talks about the low-level anxiety that comes with navigating change (even when it’s small), the comfort of familiar rituals and how the most basic disruptions can hit harder when you’re neurodivergent.

We also explore: – Creating your own energy vs just waiting for motivation to arrive – Adapting your routines without spiralling – How we lead, coach and support others while dealing with our own stuff – The long, messy process of shifting from compulsion to compassion

It’s a very “meeting yourself where you’re at” kind of episode... with a bit of burnout, a bit of self-reflection and most certainly some caffeine.

  • Episode 10: Queer Joy, Vegan Rage, and a Touch of Health Anxiety
    2025/07/09

This week’s episode covers a lot... because when you’re neurodivergent, queer and vegan, it kind of always does.

We chat about Toria’s return to rugby (again), Luce’s ongoing journey to get literally anyone in healthcare to take their symptoms seriously, and why “it’s probably just your iron levels” doesn’t cut it.

We also get into: – The slow, necessary death of grind culture – The links between neurodivergence, queerness and ethical living – Why we’re not going to Pride this year – And what it means to carve out safe spaces when the world isn’t built for your body or identity

Expect tangents, swearing, heartfelt moments and a healthy dose of “what the fuck is going on??”

  • Episode 9: How We Coach Differently (and Why It Works)
    2025/06/18

In this episode, we dive into what coaching really means beyond the buzzwords, before-and-afters, and recycled advice.

We talk about how we approach coaching inside our programmes, why it’s not therapy (and shouldn’t try to be), and what makes a person-centred, growth-focused approach different from what a lot of people are used to.

Whether you've worked with a coach before or you're thinking about it for the first time, this one’s for anyone who’s ever asked: “What am I actually signing up for?”

    We get into:

    • The key differences between coaching and therapy

    • Why we don’t believe in copy-paste methods

    • How we adapt coaching to the person, not the other way around

    • Why growth—not healing—is at the core of our work

If you’ve been craving support that sees the whole of you—not just the goal you’ve got on paper—this episode might just hit home.

  • Episode 8: "I'm not gay, but..."
    2025/06/11

    “I’m not gay, but…”

This week, we’re diving into the wonderfully chaotic world of queer-coded behaviour before we knew we were queer.

From playing as the opposite gender in The Sims, to lurking in gay chatrooms “just out of curiosity” to watching certain videos a little too often, we reflect on all the ways we unknowingly tried to suppress or test our queerness.

    We also chat:

    • Compulsory heterosexuality (comp het) and how it shaped our early experiences

    • The fear of same-gender intimacy going “too far”

    • The lack of queer representation growing up, and how that impacted our identity development

    • And the moments we look back on and go: “Oh...”

    It’s tender. It’s hilarious. It’s extremely gay.

And if you’ve ever had a “wait… am I?” moment, this one’s for you. 🌈💻💋

  • Episode 7: Birthdays, Beliefs & the Bullsh*t in Between
    2025/06/04

It’s been a big couple of weeks for birthdays: Toria just hit 30, Lucy’s nephew made his grand entrance (on their late dad’s birthday, no less) and we’re feeling reflective as ever.

In this episode, we dive into life updates, healing journeys and how our relationships with training, food and identity are evolving.

Toria’s officially cleared to play rugby again post-ACL tear, but not without navigating the mental side of recovery. Lucy opens up about shifting away from bodybuilding to prioritise health and how that’s impacted their sense of self.

    We also explore:

    • The messy post-bodybuilding prep phase and erratic goal chasing

    • Experimenting with beliefs instead of blindly accepting them

    • Food rules we’re still unlearning and the progress we’re proud of

    • Why creativity is the antidote to all-or-nothing thinking

This one’s part therapy, part birthday party. Grab a cuppa (or a slice of cake) and settle in 🧠🍰🏳️‍🌈

  • Episode 6: Trans Rights on Trial - Building Safety in Uncertain Times
    2025/05/07

In this episode, we unpack the recent UK Supreme Court ruling on the legal definition of 'woman' and the EHRC’s interim advice — breaking down what this means for the trans and gender-diverse community. We explore the wider conversation around how sex and gender are conceptualised in law and society, and dive into the ripple effects this has already had in sport, from football to cricket.

We also reflect on the realities of navigating the fitness industry as a marginalised person, and why creating truly inclusive spaces is more important than ever.

To wrap up, we share thoughts on how to stay grounded and supported in the face of rising hostility — from finding your people and engaging in queer joy, to the role of allies in showing up, speaking out, and redistributing resources.
