Drudgery Dream or in Between?
Every week we start off by asking where our hosts are on the DDiB spectrum. This week we found out that Angela is living in the in Between most often. It depends on the day for her but most times she's right in between the drudgery and the dream. For Cob, on the other hand, they are living the dream. After a productive week, they were able to accomplish so much and they are feeling prepared to take on anything this week.
Imposter Syndrome
A lot of us get in this space of feeling stuck or feeling like we are letting people down. Take one of Cob’s clients, for example, an extremely talented comic book artist who feels like he is letting everybody down by not writing comic number two yet. This is a feeling of guilt and it is important for us to recognize if something is guilt or is it shame. Once we figure that part out we must then decide if this guilt is because we are violating a core value of ours. If we are still living within our core values then let that shit go!
Dealing with Other People’s opinions
Receiving feedback fucking sucks, it is only made worse when the feedback is about who we are as people. One of Cob’s clients this week received feedback that she was “Condescending and Disrespectful.” It is important that when we receive this kind of difficult feedback we seek to respond rather than react. It is also important that we take this feedback, rumble with it, learn from it and grow with it. Always remember to stay within our core values and live within our zone of consent when dealing with any of these difficult situations.
Charge Your Worth
We at DDiB love bleeding hearts, but knock it off y’all. If you keep discounting your work your customers won't see the value. Listen to this episode to hear more about our thoughts on this and make sure that you listen next week when we have our first guest.
