  • Math Matters: Numeracy Beyond the Classroom
    2024/05/21

** Bonus episode in celebration of National Numeracy Day 22/05/2024

My special guest this week is Heidi Jorgensen, a maths tutor and mum of 2. On this episode, we discuss why many people find maths challenging, how teachers can help, and what maths can teach us about the natural world.

    About Heidi
Hi! I'm Heidi! I am a mom of 2...an almost 1 year old and an almost 3 year old. I used to teach middle school and high school math until I couldn't anymore, so I started an online math tutoring business www.wisekinde.com
I am a crazy math lady who LOVES math and loves helping kids feel good about doing math. My mission is to help moms feel empowered to either help their kids do math and love it OR help them outsource and get their kids the math help they need. On top of running my business (which I LOVE) we are gearing up to move our family of 4 abroad (out of the USA) to soak up some adventures together and really get the most joy out of these early years with our kids.

  • Parenting a child with ADHD
    2024/03/23

In honour of Neurodiversity Celebration week, this week's episode follows the parenting journey of Parenting Coach, Layal Aoudi and her son who is diagnosed with ADHD.

    About Layal
My journey began with a minor in child psychology due to my passion with children, which laid the foundation of understanding the child’s brain and then resulted in obtaining my master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis.
I realized I also wanted to collaborate with parents. Supporting parents was important for me to ensure they have the knowledge and tools to provide their children with the comprehensive care they need when they don’t have professional support available. I started following parent coaches until I came across an institute that certified people with exactly what I was looking for and more. As I was studying and learning this different approach, I realized it was changing my personal parenting style with my own children to a healthier and closer parent-child relationship, and that is when I realized I wanted to share the skills and knowledge with the world. I became a certified parent coach to foster a supportive environment for both the child and parent through “care to repair parenting”.

  • Unpacking Adoption: Strategies for Addressing Challenging Behaviors
