In addition to discussing the implications of Ukraine's significant battlefield gains made in early September, Putin's own escalation through mobilization, and how things will proceed as winter sets in; we also consider these developments in lieu of US domestic politics on the eve of the 2022 midterm elections. As Republicans are on the cusp of massive congressional victories (understandably so), what can we expect of US support of Ukraine's existential struggle in the coming months and years? We broach the topic regarding the phenomenon of 'Putinophilia' within some sectors of conservatism in the West, not to mention some groups of fellow traditional Catholics. Perhaps there could be a genuinely 'Catholic approach' on this war that actually takes into consideration the perspectives of fellow Ukrainian Catholics both within and outside of Ukraine?
