    Today we’ll look at fishing. I’m thinking about how Jesus saw how the disciples were fishing, thinking about it I realize that fishing must have been more then a job, there must have been a love for what they were doing. Jesus said he’ll make some fishermen fishers of men. Peter was a fisherman who had denied Jesus. But Jesus had other plans for Peter. Three times Peter denied Jesus, but after His resurrection Jesus asked Peter three times: Do you love me? This sequence leads me to ask: Do you love Jesus?     We are walking thru the season of Lent and today we arrive at Palm Sunday, where we will study several parts of Scripture that show the ups and downs Jesus traversed on his way to the cross. This Sunday we will look at his triumphal entry into Jerusalem. If you are willing to trust a plane or car to get you to your destination, are you willing to trust God to guide you here on earth and to your eternal destination? When you don’t feel like rejoicing, tell God how you truly feel. You will find that God will give you a reason to rejoice, a reason to find peace.     Fear of God and knowledge of sin is essential, but that is not the essence of repentance. Repentance is not remorse. It is not just enough to be broken. It is not just enough to be contrite. It is not just enough to turn over a new leaf to mess up a clean page. True repentance is revealed by changing our actions. Repentance it is more than turning over our lives. It is more than just feeling sorry for our sins. Repentance means to change the direction of our lives completely. It means to stop walking toward selfishness or self-centeredness or a life that is centered upon what the self desires. It means to make a 180-degree turn, to start walking toward God, toward his vision, toward His aim and goals for our lives.
