    Advent and Christmas means celebrating the birth of a baby. Babies make no demands on anyone other than their parents or those caring for them. While we may enjoy holding babies, the moment they start fussing we quickly hand them back to their mother or father. If we forever view Jesus as an infant perhaps like our own children, we miss out on much of his life and teachings. It is so important that we be an example and share all we know of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is often described as a land flowing with milk and honey, reflecting its agricultural richness and strategic importance for settlement and agriculture. Overall, the desert in the Bible is a powerful metaphor for the trials and growth that come with faith and trust in God. In our wilderness, it seems that there is never enough time, never enough money, never enough understanding, and never enough love… Our hands are weak. Our knees grow feeble. Our hearts become oh so fearful. So, let me ask: Where are those scary, wilderness spaces deep inside our souls?
