WARNING- THIS EPISODE CONTAINS SENSITIVE TOPICS SUCH AS RAPE.
This week on Turning Trauma to Triumph, Danielle speaks to Lois Wagner, who speaks about:
- How she was raped and attacked with a screwdriver and was tied up and left to bleed to death. She actually kept some of the glass and cut herself free and then called the police. The police caught the man who raped her and stole her car within a few minutes.
- How she immediately became an activist because South Africa had just ended the apartheid.
- Within 2 months, she was tricked by her business partner. She then lost the business and went deep into debt.
- How she was living outside of the country, and when she came back to South Africa, she ended up attending the Parole hearing of the man who attacked her. She forgave him in court and felt so free at that moment. Forgiveness is like a muscle, the more you practice, the easier it gets for you to forgive.
- She wrote a book called Walking Without Skin and also has a podcast with the same name.
