  • Grow: How to Grow Where You Are Planted | 1 Timothy 1:3-4
    2026/05/15

Thank you for joining us as we begin our sermon series through Titus. This series was preached by Pastor Myers at Momeyer Baptist Church in 2025, when he served as their interim pastor. In this sermon, Pastor Myers emphasizes that God sometimes gives us hard assignments and that doing the right thing is often difficult, yet we must grow where we are planted. Timothy was also given a hard assignment by Paul, and he was able to walk in confidence because he walked in God-given authority. In this sermon, we learn that Timothy's assignment was to remain in a difficult situation, to command certain people not to preach false doctrine, and to put God's house in order in Ephesus. This passage reminds us that God is working for the advancement of his Kingdom, that Timothy was a steward of God's house, and that he needed to do God's will God's way. Timothy's whole goal in ministry was to advance God's Kingdom. Advancing God's Kingdom can be hard, but when we remember that God's power is backing us and that his house is in order because we have obeyed his assignment, we see God's power at work and the fruit that comes with it.

  • Identity Crisis: Life is in the Son | 1 John 5:6-12 | The Three that Testify & the Johannine Comma
    2025/05/06

Life is in the Son! That is the truth of this message that we all need to walk away with. In this sermon, T. S. Myers exposits probably the most difficult passage of this book. Listen along to see how he deals with how to understand the three that testify and what is known as the Johannine comma. But to get stuck in the weeds would be to miss the overall point that John is making - that our eternal life is in the Son and God, in Christ, testifies to this! What an amazing blessing. • Identity Crisis: You Win | 1 John 5:1-5
    2025/04/16

People who win walk differently. In this sermon, T. S. Myers preaches through 1 John 5:1-5 and explains that because we have overcome the world, the commands Jesus gives are are not burdensome, and we obey his commands. Believers obey Jesus commands because in Christ, they win! They have overcome the world because of Christ and are born again of His Spirit. This will show in our obedience to his commands because our natures have been made alive by his gospel! Are you born again? Then you win and you will start to look different in this world. Where the world can’t you can. And there is nothing that can happen to you that can thwart God’s plan to work all things for your good. That should make us walk differently.
