What is the correct use of the law? How does the Gospel interact with it? In this message, Pastor Thomas Myers discusses these questions as he continues in his series through the book of 1 Timothy, Grow. In this sermon, he shows us that the aim of healthy doctrine is love; the correct application of the law is to show us our sins and point us to Christ; and therefore, the answer to the false teachers' use of the law (which they used to show that they were spiritual) was the gospel itself. Here, the sound doctrine of the gospel still uses the law, but not as a tool to become righteous; rather, it shows us how far we have fallen from God's righteous standard.
