このコンテンツについて
Philadelphia sports fans have a (well-deserved) reputation of being among the worst in sports. The booing of their own players, the abuse of fans of the other team - those are just a couple of examples.
Now obviously, they're not the only fabase to exhibit this kind of behavior (been in the bleachers at Yankee Stadium recently?) but they have taken abhorrent acting out to a whole different level.
And that's why it was so disheartening to listen to New York sports talk radio last week as hosts were basically pleading with Mets fans to not boo Juan Soto during the weekend homestand against the Cardinals.
By his own lofty standards, Soto has not performed to his career levels yet but even with a slow start, he's on a pace to hit 22 home runs and drive in about 90. And it's not as if the team is struggling, either - they're in first place in the National League East with the third best record in baseball.
Dial it back, Mets fans. Let the clowns in Philadelphia be the idiots when it comes to how you root for your team.
Also on tap - the Jets were in a no-win PR situation with Aaron Rodgers, and Chris Swendeman is a VERY cranky Rangers fan.
