  • Ronda Davis Returns: A Two-Way Conversation on Healing, Grief, and the Launch of Her Own Podcast, Authentically You
    2026/09/15

Ronda Davis is back on Try and Keep Up — and this time, the mic goes both ways.

A licensed clinical social worker and founder of Healing Feathers Therapy, Ronda built her Utah-based trauma-informed practice after the sudden loss of her father, a loss that became the very reason she finally pursued the practice she'd dreamed of owning since childhood. Since her last appearance, she's launched her own podcast, Authentically You, bringing that same trauma-informed, whole-person lens to her own platform.

In this episode, Ronda and I trade the usual roles — she's asking me questions, I'm asking her questions, and neither of us knows exactly where the conversation will go. It's a real back-and-forth between two women who've each turned their dreams into something they built on purpose, and a chance to hear a little about what led Ronda to start Authentically You too.

If you enjoyed Ronda's first episode, this one goes even deeper — and if you're new to her story, this is a great place to start.

  • Susan Pieper: Climbing 60,000 Feet Before 61 — One Audacious Goal at a Time
    2026/09/01

In March, Susan Pieper set a goal most people would talk themselves out of: climb four 6,000-meter mountains, and 60,000 feet of vertical, before she turns 61.

She didn't overthink it. She said she loved the audacity of it — and then went and did something about it.

By May, that goal had already taken her to Ecuador, where she summited Cotopaxi at 19,347 feet, then stood on the summit of Chimborazo at 20,548 feet. She's logged over 18,000 feet of vertical so far between those climbs and her training ascents — she is currently hiking Walker's Haute Route, with plenty of mountain still ahead of her.

In this episode of Try and Keep Up, Susan joins me to talk about what it actually takes to set a goal this big at this stage of life, why audacity itself can be the whole motivation, and what she's learned about herself somewhere above 19,000 feet.

If you've ever had a goal that felt a little too big to say out loud — this conversation might be exactly the push you need.

  • Dr. Shannon Simonelli: Why Feeling Lost Is a Wake-Up Call, Not a Breakdown
    2026/08/18

Dr. Shannon Simonelli has spent over twenty years helping people move through the moments they'd rather explain away.

A psychotherapist and imaginal creative arts therapist based in Utah, Shannon built her clinical work around a body-based, movement-driven process — the belief that when we feel stuck, lost, or empty, it isn't something broken in us. It's a signal. A wake-up call pointing toward more we have to give and become.

Her new book, The Circulatio, brings that process to readers directly, guiding them through a spiraling path back to authentic self-expression and wholeness.

In this episode of Try and Keep Up, Shannon joins me to talk about what it actually means to listen to your body instead of talking over it, why "stuck" might be the most misunderstood feeling we have, and how to recognize your own wake-up call before it has to get louder to be heard.

If you've ever felt an unexplainable pull toward something more — and didn't know what to do with it — this conversation will give you language for it.
