  • Savage Motherhood Seasons, The Mental Load & Emotional Labour
    2026/07/27

Motherhood can be beautiful and still feel savage. When life is piling on, when support is thin, and when you are expected to carry everyone else’s comfort, the “best job in the world” line stops sounding inspiring and starts sounding like a gag order. I’m Kirsty Dee, and I’m saying the quiet part out loud: lots of mums love their kids and still feel overwhelmed, resentful, and privately ashamed for struggling.

I take you through my own motherhood journey, from pregnancy sickness and not being believed in labour, to the aftermath of pain, feeding pressure, and the constant sense that if anything goes wrong the blame lands on mum. We also talk neurodivergent parenting, school battles, masking, and the long road to an autism diagnosis, plus how years of navigating systems can grind families down. If you have ever questioned your choices, or felt like a “monster” for having hard thoughts, you’re not alone.

Then we get practical with the real culprit behind so much motherhood burnout: the mental load and emotional labour. We name the invisible labour, how it quietly becomes normal, and why “just tell me what to do” is not partnership. I share what has helped me shift it: boundaries, shared responsibility, teaching kids that a household is everyone’s work, and building a village so your time, health and joy matter too. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs it, and leave a review, then tell me: what part of the mental load are you ready to put down?

  • The Reality & Grief When A Woman Stops Self-Abandoning
    2026/07/20

The quickest way to find out who benefits from your self-sacrifice is to stop doing it. I am talking about self-abandonment with the nuance we rarely name: women are trained to put themselves last, rewarded when they comply, and then punished when they set boundaries and ask to be met. If you have ever tried to be kind, loving, understanding, and “easy”, only to end up exhausted and unsupported, you are going to feel seen here.

I share what happened when I stopped abandoning myself: people liked me less, relationships shifted, and grief hit hard. We dig into why women who call things out get labelled “not nice”, why credibility gets questioned the moment you stop playing the role, and why the advice to “just be authentic” can be a trap if we do not also tell the truth about the consequences. This is women’s empowerment without the glossy slogans, including the heartbreak of being misunderstood and the resilience it takes to keep choosing yourself anyway.

We also go straight into internalised misogyny, including how it shows up between women. Sometimes “my intuition doesn’t lie” is not intuition at all, but discomfort with a woman who refuses the rule book. I am not asking you to ignore red flags. I am asking you to check yourself, get honest about the programming we have all inherited, and become the kind of woman who backs other women when they are being targeted.

If this lands, subscribe, share it with a friend who is done people pleasing, and leave a review so more women can find these raw, truthful conversations.

  • When The Practical Fails Try Some Woo Shit (Spirit Guides, Tarot & Astrology)
    2026/07/13

When the practical stuff is not working, sometimes the most radical move is to try the “woo” without giving your power away. We’re talking psychic abilities, intuition, and the clairs in a way that stays grounded, sceptical, and deeply pro-autonomy, especially for women who are tired of being told what to think, feel, or follow.

We break down the most common clairs like claircognisance, clairvoyance and clairaudience, and share real-life examples of how they show up quietly: a sudden inner knowing, a phrase that lands out of nowhere, a vision that later plays out in ordinary life. We also explore why “woo-woo” gets mocked, how that can be tied to patriarchal control, and why discernment matters more than blind belief. Spirit guides and channelling can be helpful, but we do not put anyone, human or non-human, on a pedestal.

You’ll hear a wild out-of-body “cloud nine” story that brings both wonder and a clear warning about chasing spiritual highs. From there we move into tools you can actually use: tarot as a structured framework for alchemy and personal transformation, and astrology as a way to understand your birth chart, moon cycles and transits without outsourcing your choices. If you want spiritual tools that build self-trust rather than dependency, you’ll feel at home here.

If it resonates, subscribe, share with a friend and leave a review so more people can find the show.
