This week on True Crime Tradies, JB and Chris dive into Netflix’s Girl in the Picture, one of the most twisted and unbelievable true-crime documentaries we’ve covered.

When a young woman is found dying on the side of a road, investigators believe they’re dealing with a tragic hit-and-run. But questions surrounding her identity begin to unravel a decades-long mystery involving kidnapping, stolen identities, abuse, murder and a man who spent years hiding behind different names.

Who was Sharon Marshall really? And how did Franklin Delano Floyd manage to stay one step ahead for so long?

We break down the documentary, the investigation and the staggering failures that allowed Floyd to repeatedly slip through the cracks along with plenty of our usual commentary along the way.

⚠️ This episode discusses child abduction, sexual abuse and murder. Listener discretion is advised.

This week, JB and Chris dive into HBO’s A Killer Story, a bizarre true-crime tale packed with obsession, amateur sleuthing, family secrets, suspicious characters and a case where seemingly everyone has their own theory about what really happened.

We break down the documentary, the investigation, the evidence, the people at the centre of the case, and ask the big question: did they actually get the right person?

Expect questionable police work, wild theories, plenty of armchair detective work from the boys, and the usual True Crime Tradies verdict.

🎧 Watch the documentary first if you want to avoid spoilers — because we’re pulling this one apart from start to finish.

In 1998, 23-year-old Amy Bradley boarded a Caribbean cruise with her family. Just days later, she vanished from the ship without a trace.

Netflix’s Amy Bradley Is Missing revisits one of the most baffling missing-person cases of the past three decades. What began as a family holiday quickly became an international mystery, with conflicting witness accounts, reported sightings across the Caribbean, disturbing photographs, and theories that Amy may have made it off the ship alive.

In this episode of True Crime Tradies, JB and Chris break down the documentary, examine the evidence and theories surrounding Amy’s disappearance, and ask the question that has haunted her family for nearly 30 years: what really happened to Amy Bradley?

Expect the usual TCT treatment — serious case, questionable commentary, and two tradies who are wildly underqualified to solve an international mystery.

This week, JB and Chris dive into Netflix's Death of the Pastor's Wife — tracing Mica's relationship with JP from its controversial beginnings inside the church, through the breakdown of their marriage and the increasingly troubling events leading up to April 27, 2024.

We break down the documentary, JP's behaviour, Mica's attempts to leave, the investigation into her death, and the questions her family continued to raise after the official ruling.

And because this is True Crime Tradies, somewhere amongst an incredibly dark story we'll inevitably find time to discuss questionable sermons, bizarre behaviour and a pastor who gives us plenty to talk about.

This week on True Crime Tradies, JB and Chris head deep into Australia’s Northern Territory for Last Stop Larrimah: Murder Down Under.

Larrimah is the kind of place where everybody knows everybody — mainly because there are only about 10 people to know. But when 70-year-old Paddy Moriarty and his dog Kellie suddenly vanish without a trace, this tiny outback town becomes the centre of one of Australia’s strangest murder mysteries.

With no body, no obvious crime scene and almost every resident seemingly having a problem with someone else, police are left trying to work out what happened to Paddy — and whether one of his neighbours knows a lot more than they're letting on.

There are feuds over pies, pub rivalries, missing dogs, grudges that have been simmering for years and enough bizarre characters to make Larrimah feel less like a town and more like the world’s smallest reality show.

JB and Chris break down the disappearance of Paddy Moriarty, the suspects, the theories and the absolute madness of life in a town where 10 residents can somehow produce 100 different motives.

This week on True Crime Tradies, JB and Chris dive into the unbelievable true story of Elizabeth Smart.

In 2002, 14-year-old Elizabeth was taken at knifepoint from her bedroom in Salt Lake City while her younger sister lay just feet away. What followed was a nine-month nightmare, a nationwide search, missed opportunities, bizarre suspects and a case that gripped the world.

We’re reviewing the documentary Kidnapped: Elizabeth Smart, breaking down the investigation, the warning signs that were missed, the disturbing beliefs of Brian David Mitchell and Wanda Barzee, and the incredible resilience Elizabeth showed throughout her ordeal and in the years since.

As always, expect plenty of questions, opinions and the occasional completely inappropriate detour from two tradies who have absolutely no business investigating anything.
