Chris, thank you very much for being patient and joining the show. Um, it's good to have you. I've really been looking forward to speaking to you. You are a mental health first aider, um, and you've been doing it for a long time, but I've only recently found out about there is such a thing in the last year, year and a half.

So I would love for you to help us understand what it is you do and how you got there. Okay. Actually I'm a mental health first aid trainer, so I actually train mental health first aid and I also train, uh, the Living Works Suicide Awareness Programme as well. Uh, and a variety of other things that I can talk about.

About as we move on. Um, probably best if I tell you my own mental health journey and how I became involved. Um, I'm 64 years old and I come from a generation where in general, men don't talk about the mental health. Uh, and I think my journey, uh, where I, I first became, uh, I problems with my mental health was way back when I was about 30 ish.

Uh, my mom died, uh, when I was 28, quite suddenly. And tragically I didn't cope with it very well. And to be honest, the help I got wasn't spot on, uh, and eventually, uh, went for some counselling myself, uh, and got myself back in an even keel. Uh, as a result of that, I trained to be a counsellor myself, uh, and went on to work as a voluntary counsellor for the following 10 years.

I worked in the airline industry at the time, and because of the skills I'd developed as a counsellor, um, I moved into human factors training, which was... Uh, communication teamwork and, uh, management and it was encouraging pilots and cabin crew how to, uh, work better together so they didn't crash the planes, basically, because 74% of air accidents were due to human error and for people my generation, you'll remember the British Midland crash where the communication was one of the reasons the plane landed on the M1 and not the runway.

Um, anyway, um, I've continued to do practice counselling on and then took voluntary redundancy in 2009. And I started working for some organisations who offered employee assistance programmes. And I was doing some coaching for them, some training for them. And that's when I stumbled across mental health first aid training.

So I thought, oh, this is something I'm interested in and I'm passionate about. So, uh, I then, uh, qualified to train mental health first aid England, uh, which is a licensed product basically. Uh, and they, they tailor it to each country in the world. So that's why we say MFHA England and not just MFHA because they actually have a different one for, um, Scotland and for, um, the Republic of Ireland as well.

So, uh, Started to do that. And then I discovered the, the Living Works, uh, assist program, uh, which, um, focuses on suicide prevention and support for people who have lost people by suicide. Uh, so I, I train that as well. And then I train, uh, mental Health First Aid as a, a, you know, a, an academic subject as well, uh, for two governing bodies.

Uh, also, um, also, I, I work. Uh, on a part time basis for a men's mental health charity where I recruit and train and support the facilitators there. So I'd say the vast...

This podcast. It's here to empower truck drivers in the UK with the knowledge, skills and tools to live a much more awesome life. It's not just about trucks and driving, it's about all areas of your life. Money, relationships, health, mental health and much more. For more information, go to www.PuckerTruckers.UK

Hey you, I'm interviewing Howard Berg, the Guinness World Record for fastest reader. And this guy has got courses on how to read faster, how to memorize stuff better, and increasing your learning capacity dramatically. And you've got to listen to his stuff because he puts out loads of tips.

He shows you a little bit how to do it during the podcast. And he's got some... Great stuff to share apologies in advance for the crap audio on his end at the beginning and at my end for some reason Near the end, but the interview gets better as we go on and we have a good laugh. So check it out Okay, hi words welcome to the podcast thank you for having me You're very welcome.

I was very interested to read your LinkedIn profile Yeah, so you're the Guinness Book of World's record holder as the world's fastest reader. I got it in 1990 and no one ever replaced it. Wow. So you're pretty fast at reading then. I can read 80 pages a minute. At least I did in 1990. I'm getting a little older and I don't think Mark Spitz is going to win any more gold medals.

I still read very fast. I, I know that when, when I read in 1990, I didn't wear any glasses, so I could see the whole page right away. Now I wear glasses, so I would say I'm a little slower, but I've read 30, 000 books. So my understanding is much higher. Alright, 80 pages a minute, that's fast. I read the healthcare bill on Cavuto, which was a, um, Fox station, um, business station show, and I read the 1500 page bill in 50 minutes, and then I did an analysis.

    And everything I predicted happened.

That's amazing. I'm just looking through all your achievements. There's quite a lot. Um, you've been featured on over 1100 radio and television programs. That's correct. I just was in Thailand. I was on the national broadcast system, went to about 10 countries in Asia. I've been on in Oslo and Copenhagen.

I've been in London. I was, uh, I was on the home shopping channel in London about 25 years ago. So I've been all over the world, Canada, the U S and, uh, been on lots of shows, lots of newspapers, Forbes, FYI, Redbook, men's health, bottom line. Uh, it's been very exciting, more exciting than these that could help people.

So I use my publicity to get to people to show them I can help them solve the information overload that they're experiencing at work and their kids are having at school. And to me, me doing it is a sideshow. You doing it is a breakthrough and that's much more important to me. And you have a book which is in its 28th reprint, the super reading secrets.

That's correct. That was my Time Warner book. And I did a book for Barons. It was kids, a funny backstory. Barons called me and said, we want you to write a book for students. I said, you didn't, I didn't send you a proposal. I said, we picked you already. We want you to write the book. I said, okay, but now you need to send a proposal.

So I sent a proposal and another editor of the week later says, we can't use you. And I was like, okay. And the next week, the first editor called and said, when can you write the book? And I was like, well, they called me last week. They said they couldn't use me. He says, well, when you sent the proposal, we took your name off it.

We want our proposals to stand on the merits of its content, not the reputation of the writer. And so they send it out for...

This podcast. It's here to empower truck drivers in the UK with the knowledge, skills and tools to live a much more awesome life. It's not just about trucks and driving, it's about all areas of your life. Money, relationships, health, mental health and much more. For more information, go to www.PuckerTruckers.UK

Hands up, who wants to retire a millionaire? In this episode of the Online Business Podcast, I'm going to share a quick book review with you, which guarantees you to retire a millionaire. Even if you don't start a business, if you just work a job, this can work for you too. It does, however, work better if you start...

In this episode, I'm going to share with you a book called Unshakeable, and the author, Tony Robbins. Now if you haven't heard of Tony Robbins, where the hell have you been living? This guy is like a multi squillionaire. He has rubbed shoulders with the richest of the rich, the biggest of the... biggest and he has changed more lives than anyone that I know.

In this book he's interviewed 50 of the world's greatest financial minds and Tony's bringing a step by step guide here to financial freedom. He's written the book with Peter Malouk, the only man in history to be ranked the number one financial advisor in the U. S. for three consecutive years by Barron's and this book will transform your Life if you choose to use it now, I'm only halfway through this book But I've got to put something out there because it is gold Now, let me give you the short version.

It's about investing your money certain portion of your income goes into stocks if you invest a certain portion of your earnings over time the compounding interest will make you a millionaire by the time you retire see It's more important that you start young with this because you need the years to build up the amounts if you give this book to your kids That's that's the one of the best things you can do here for me.

I'm in my 40s It's a little bit later, but let me give you an example of how this could help your kids if they're just leaving school, for example, and they start paying in using this system for, say, about eight years, and then they stop paying into the system altogether. By the time they retire, they will be a millionaire.

So it doesn't take. Too long or too much money going in, but you have to put the money in and leave it alone. No matter if the stock market crashes, goes up or down, doesn't matter, whatever. The end of the day, compounding interest over the years, you leave it there. By the time you retire, who needs a pension?

Not you if you follow this system. It's just about investing in low cost index funds. And leaving it alone, uh, you have to make sure you find the right fiduciary. Um, it's different in the UK than the US. In the US you can have brokers and fiduciaries, and they're two different things, and they wear. The same hat and they switch between them and they can rip you off, but in the UK, that's not allowed.

They're basically just fiduciaries where they have to have your best financial interests at heart and act accordingly. But whatever. You need to get this book if you're interested in investing. It is a literal gold mine. I'm gonna put a link directly to the book in the show notes. So...

    2023/08/28

This podcast. It's here to empower truck drivers in the UK with the knowledge, skills and tools to live a much more awesome life. It's not just about trucks and driving, it's about all areas of your life. Money, relationships, health, mental health and much more. For more information, go to www.PuckerTruckers.UK

Oh. My. God. Aren't you lucky? You ever had someone say that to you? But you know you're not lucky. You put the work in. You had your opportunity meet your effort. That's what happened. And you are lucky. Because I'm about to share with you one of the most important things you need to understand when you're getting into business.

Whether you're doing it online or not. In fact, this is true for a lot of stuff. Like I said, I'm not just here to help with your business, but I'm going to help improve your life as well. So let's dive into mindset. Right, having the right mindset first means you'll be giving the correct energy to everything you do.

Your results are your responsibility. Take responsibility for everything that shows up on your path. It was put there for a reason. Even if something is not actually your responsibility. Taking responsibility for it allows you to have control over it. Now the battle is not won on the battlefield. The battle is won in your own head and your heart.

You do not master the life that is outside of yourself in the reality that you experience. You master The inner reality. Your self talk. The conversations you have with yourself in your head. And you master not reacting to stimulus, but purposefully responding in positive and empowering ways. The world is your mirror.

Outside is just a reflection of the inside. Master the inside. And the outer reflection changes to match it. So if your head's a mess, chances are your house is a mess. But you know, you don't do the housework to fix your head. Once you fix your head, you'll find that naturally your housework will just become sorted thereafter.

You ever noticed that? Your outer world is showing you what is going on within you, even with relationships. This is why people only see in others what they see in themselves, and why so often people giving advice are projecting the advice that they should be listening to themselves. We're all guilty.

I've done it. Other people though, they're there to help us see ourselves and it is in knowing ourselves that we're able to know others. You need to take responsibility for your inner state. You need to own the self talk going on in your head, because the quality of your thoughts determine the quality of your life.

And the quality of the questions you ask yourself determine the quality of your life. Ask yourself the right questions, ones that empower you. Your brain is a computer. It will bring answers to any question that you pose to it. So focus on the right things, the positive, empowering stuff, and not the whiny, negative bullshit.

If you ask, why does my life suck, then your brain will give you a hundred answers. If you ask, what can I learn from this stuff that sucks and how can I improve it, then your brain will give you a hundred useful answers. Useful answers. See how this works? Now you're here because you want success. But you should understand there's a lot of work to be done.

But it's done step by step. Uh, Tony Robbins calls it chunking. You can't jump to the top of the mountain. You can only walk up it step by step. And when you connect your talents to opportunities, you will unlock doors and people will judge you as a lucky because they haven't seen your commitment or the work that you've put in.

Okay, there are four steps to success. Principles that all successful people have followed. Without these, you don't have real success. Write them down. Hang them on your...

Karen. Now I can see, okay. Does it look like I'm looking at you? That's what I, that's what I'm aiming for. Pretty much, yeah. Okay, so, how have you been? I've been great. Thanks for taking the time to speak to me anyway, just wanted to get that in there. Did you manage to speak to John Ball yet?

No, no, I've got a meeting with him on the 4th of September, so he's a very busy man. Yeah, he is now. I sent, I sent him about 150 leads of comedians. Yeah, bugger you, because I thought I'd get him for August, and no, he's booked out for August. Wow. I'm in September. Yeah, it's amazing what you can do when you, when you put a little bit of effort in.

How do you know John? Jumped on my LinkedIn. Um, he was, he was looking for some comedians, uh, because he does like, um, presentations and speaking events and webinars. And he likes to teach people how they should add a bit of humour in. So, so it's a bit less boring and so on. Um, and I said, you know, I, I know some comedians, I can hook you up with, with some people.

And, um, And so he did. And now he's very, very busy. So it's all good. But yes, I haven't spoken with him yet. Um, 4th, 4th of September, I've got a, well, I think what he does, Grant, is he gives you a half hour to see whether or not you're worthwhile to actually show. Right. I think that you're a perfect fit. No, because You're a strategic business humourist yourself.

So he's going to vet, he's going to vet and that's, you know, you'll see whether or not you fit, you fit the criteria. I'm pretty sure you'll, you'll fit the criteria and, and he's all into storytelling and stuff like yourself as well. Oh, cool. Which is another reason why I wanted to talk to you because it's really important storytelling, isn't it?

Especially these days online, uh, when you're trying to build relationships with your clients and customers People want to know all about you I see you've got your whiteboard in the background where I've got you can just see the edge of my whiteboard see behind me So I've got I've got my whiteboard over there.

I've got two, so you can do the edge of mine. So it's, uh, yeah, whiteboards are great, aren't they? Yeah, I've used it a few times, you know, um, I need to get a bigger one, I think. Mine's a double, uh, well, I could, I could probably, mine's actually, I've got one that goes right across, so it's probably, um, two meters.

Yeah, and they're nice glass magnetic ones. I've got them a long time ago, so it's, uh. I've a mentor who has a digital one and basically you can write on it and then just use your hand to wipe it off. So cool. Um, you could do that with these, except for the people who I bought them from, they've gone, they've now gone belly up.

So this digital one that he's got, you can switch the page as well. Like, uh, instead of flipping a chart over, Ah. And write it on the next page. All you do is just swipe up or swipe down, and you can go through your pages like that. That's cool. Last night I, um, released a poem which was for a friend of mine who recently passed away.

And um, yeah, it was, it's a little bit sad, so it's called The Mirror. And I didn't think it would get quite as big an impact as it got, and I'm a bit, was a bit blown away. I've, I've been sitting on it for ages, so you kind of, you know, sometimes you need to,...

Today, you're going to hear from Len Wright. This interview is pretty far out. He's a spiritual mystic and entrepreneur. He's learned how to reach maximum consciousness potential, which sounds pretty radical, but you gotta hear this guy. He's got a huge list of things that he's learned beyond the mainstream topics.

He goes into depth about beliefs, communication, meditation, Being present around people, stress, anxiety, how to live longer, loads more. It helps you understand the principles and dynamics going on in your world. So hopefully you can listen and learn some stuff about yourself that you weren't aware of before.

It's time to level up. Let's go. So Len, welcome to the podcast. I'm very glad to have you on here. Um, if you could just tell the audience a little bit about yourself and what you do, that would be awesome. Sounds good, Grant. I really appreciate you having me on and, and I thank you as well. And we're going to have a blast today.

A little bit about me. I mean, I don't even know if we have that much time. I've been, I, I've really, I mean, I tell people it's been about 30 years since I've been intensely studying, um, thyself, um, as Socrates said, know thyself, which is one of the most powerful quotes that's ever been uttered. And it's been uttered in different ways by many, many, many different masters and gurus and teachers along the way.

And so it's been intensely about 30 years of it, where I've been taking. Certifications and trainings and studying in depthly on the human consciousness and how to be able to reach peak potential within ourselves and really gain the most we can out of the life that we're living so that, you know, we're thriving and not just surviving like that.

Um, so it's, it's been a long journey, but you know, even when I was little, um, you know, I happened to be around a lot of death because my family was all older and that type of idea. And, and, um, so I was, I was presented with, you know, the mysteries of life and deep, deep questions, uh, within myself at, you know, five, six years old, where I remember asking myself a lot about what death is, what life...

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the tallest small of all? It's Lisa Small from Canada. Lisa talks about her clown nose job, we discuss dead parents and the fun side of cancer, and if that's not weird enough for you, we also discuss socially distancing yourself from gremlins while buying drugs.

There's lots of F bombs, so if you're easily offended, go back to Facebook and have a moan about something. You'll love it.

Hi! Hello, Lisa. You don't look so happy to see me. Is there something wrong with my face? No. Okay. Some people say that. I just, you know.

Hi! Hi, how are you doing? I'm great. I can't believe you're all the way from England or Britain, technically. How wild is that? It's technically Scotland. Okay, well, you know what? My nose got in the way so I couldn't read. That is probably what it was. Oh, that's not your real nose. Yeah. Um, I had it surgically.

Um, you know how people get like fake boobs and fake butts and fake arms and fake limbs. I went for a nose. Oh, you know, is it? Are you on a budget? Are you on a budget? I'm on a budget. Exactly. Nice. I like it. How's it going? It's good. It's good. So you're about lunchtime where you are. I've got, you know, I'll tell you exactly.

I've got 1 15 PM. Yeah. So, um, I'm just after six 15. So, okay. That's it. That's in the evening. Um, yeah. Thanks very much for joining me. I've been looking forward to talking to you. Um, uh, you might be aware I was talking to your friend on LinkedIn. That's right. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, that was cool. Um, so she gave me some, uh, topics to bring up that, that might be worthy of, of discussion.

I like it. I thought it was really cool. I was looking for Lisa small on Google and YouTube. Okay. Okay. I couldn't, I couldn't find where your stuff is. You gotta go to, you gotta go to, uh, Small TV on YouTube, Small TV, yeah, like, Small, S M A L L. Um, on LinkedIn, it's Lisa Small. On, um, Instagram, it's Small, so S M A L L 0 0 7 L I S A.

Right, right. So it's like, it's like, you know, when you have to read an encyclopedia and you're like, for the love of God, kind of like that, trying to find me, except I guarantee anything that you say, small double 07 Lisa, it will come up. So double 07. Lisa. Yeah, so Snapchat. So, um, small oh oh seven. Lisa, if you go to TikTok small oh oh seven.

Lisa, Instagram, small. Oh oh seven Lisa. The only ones that I don't have is my LinkedIn 'cause I have to be professional and I think my Facebook, yeah, even my Twitter is small. Oh oh seven Lisa. Yeah. Right. I'll put these in the show notes so anyone listening can find you. Thank you. No worries. So Lisa, um, Lisa Small, is that your real name?

It is! Can I tell you something about that? Yes, please. Okay, so this is wild. I am 178 centimeters in length. I thought you were going to say 178 years old. I, yeah, but I use dove.

Yeah, so I'm 5'9 I'm 5'9 just shy of 5'10 and my last name's small. Right. So you're small, but you're tall. Exactly. It's not just about trucks and driving, it's about all areas of your life. Money, relationships, health, mental health and much more. For more information, go to www.puckertruckers.uk

Andy. Hey, how's that? Hello, how you doing? I'm good, thank you. It's another Monday morning. It came round quick. Let me just drag that off that screen so I don't look like I'm... I'm good. It's full on. Um, I usually have a planner and a goal board going. How many speaking gigs do I want? And, uh, I've sort of taken it off because it was physical events.

And, uh, there's yours come out of the blue. Although we've been connected for 18 months, there was another guy. I used some automation and he, I connected with him through a search I've done. And he's running a big global summit aimed at property investors, which is a niche of mine. So I've just been interviewed on, um, webinar this morning.

I've just had someone book me to do a recording to send to them and they're paying me for that. Um, and then I've got another. Speaking gig on tomorrow or Wednesday. It's just, uh, it's great. It's great because it's all online and it's all easy, isn't it? Yeah, I love it. Uh, you've been on LinkedIn for quite a while, I take it.

I've actually been on LinkedIn pretty much since it started in about oh three. 'cause I trained as a business coach with action coach who you may know and, uh, in Australia in oh three they said, oh, you need to be on LinkedIn. I people I around.

I've been on it a lot in 10 years. So I was coaching and teaching, going in house, doing corporate trainings. And then I franchised it and that grew and then and then dived and now it's online. I've got three main things that we can obviously talk about. Um, So, yeah, um, my, I, I invest in property, but my, the rest of the, the business is, is all about LinkedIn.

So you don't use like Facebook and all the rest of it, or do you? Yeah, I do. Um, I have a big network of property investors and a lot of them are on LinkedIn, are on Facebook. So, I'd, I'd be connecting with them and communicating with them, but not using it as a marketing tool. But, in the last six months and especially with lockdown, two things have happened.

What one is, We've cracked the formula in the algorithm of LinkedIn to get your posts viral. And I noticed you've been posting but getting very little engagement and we can share that formula. And so I'm growing that as an online membership. And then I put my three month coaching program into an online course aimed at property investors.

So both those things now are marketing digitally. So we're just in the middle of... Testing Facebook ads into tripwires into email follow up. And then the other side in parallel is email marketing into webinar into follow up, which will then add Facebook ads. So, we're doing more and more with Facebook.
