Ready to shine? This week we continue our Summer on the Mount teaching series as guest preacher Rev. Peter Blundell opens up Matthew 5:13–20, where Jesus calls his followers the salt of the earth and the light of the world. What does it mean to live a life that shines?

A conversation about poverty, justice, reconciliation, and what Jesus says to us about it all. What is Jesus asking us to do right now and how is it related to being poor in spirit? Paul writes about women, slavery, marriage, Jews, and so much more. But even his fellow church leaders found his writing confusing. On this podcast, New Testament Scholar Dr. Stephen Chester unpacks some of the biggest challenges we face when reading the Apostle Paul’s letters. Indigenous people have been hurt by the church, so how can the church play a role in healing? Two Indigenous women share their story of bridging the gap between their Indigenous and Christian identities. We talk about the ways that trauma continues to impact Indigenous people in Canada today, the impact of residential schools and the Indian Act, and why many Indigenous people want nothing to do with the church.
