Hosted by Sloan and Lex—your favorite traumatized twin sisters—this podcast is where trauma crashes into dark humor. Each episode dives into chaotic, unhinged, painfully relatable stories proving humor is a valid trauma response and we’re all just surviving the childhoods we didn’t sign up for. If coping means joking about emotional damage, trauma bonding with strangers, or healing through nonsense, welcome home. Trigger warnings: childhood trauma, abandonment, attachment wounds, and mental health.

Episode 27 of Traumatically Speaking, Love Me, Leave Me, Repeat, was inspired by a question from Chaos Cousin Nia about what it is actually like to date with abandonment wounds. Sloan takes the lead as she and Lex unpack the ways early experiences shape adult relationships and why love can feel both deeply desired and deeply terrifying at the same time.

Together, they dive into attachment styles, explore a metaphor about old bricks and new bricks that completely changes the way they think about healing and relationships, and discuss why vulnerability and authenticity can feel so unsafe after a lifetime of expecting people to leave. They also talk about the surprisingly uncomfortable experience of dating someone with a secure attachment style and why healthy love can feel… boring when chaos has always felt like chemistry.

Through personal stories, psychology, and their usual mix of dark humor and honesty, Sloan and Lex explore what it means to recognize old patterns without letting them define your future. This episode is a reminder that healing is not about finding the perfect person. It is about becoming willing to build something different.

Episode 26 of Traumatically Speaking, Slave 4 Britney: Queer Awakenings & Coming Out Stories, is dedicated to every person who looked back at their childhood and thought, "...how did I not know?"

This week, Lex and Sloan share their own coming out stories alongside one from a Chaos Cousin whose first crush wasn't the boy band everyone else was obsessed with—it was Britney Spears. What started as a childhood celebrity obsession turned into a queer awakening years before she had the language to understand it, and like so many of us, it took years before she finally came out.

Lex shares her own coming out story, reflecting on what it was like to embrace her identity and navigate the reactions of the people around her.

Then Sloan opens up about a different kind of coming out. She shares what it was like to tell the people in her life that she's polyamorous, the misconceptions that came with it, and why coming out isn't always about your sexuality, sometimes it's about finally living authentically, even when other people don't understand.

Together, they talk about the pressure to fit into boxes, the fear of disappointing the people we love, and the freedom that comes from finally choosing yourself instead of performing a version of yourself that makes everyone else comfortable.

    It's funny. It's vulnerable. It's validating.

And if Britney Spears was your first crush... this might explain a few things.

Trigger warnings: breakup grief, suicidal ideation, attachment wounds, and mental health struggles.Biz Nasty: https://traumatically-speaking-co.myshopify.com/Before you dive into this episode, don't forget to check out our Father's Day Collection featuring our fan-favorite "Daddy Is a State of Mind" designs. We know you don't have a dad, so embrace your inner Daddy. The collection is only available for a limited time, so grab your favorites before they're gone.Episode 25 of Traumatically Speaking, I Knew It, I Knew You, is a little different. There are no notes. No outline. No carefully planned talking points. Just two traumatized sisters having a very real conversation about heartbreak, healing, and what happens when your biggest wounds get activated by someone you love.In this raw and unscripted episode, Sloan shares the story of her most recent breakup and the healing journey that followed. What started as heartbreak quickly became a deep dive into attachment theory, self-awareness, and the ways our childhood wounds can quietly sabotage authentic connection.Together, Sloan and Lex discuss attachment styles, emotional triggers, and the painful dance that can happen when a disorganized attachment style collides with what Sloan believes may have been an avoidant attachment style. They explore how trauma shows up in relationships, why healing isn't linear, and what it means to finally choose yourself when everything in you wants to chase someone else. For the first time, Sloan also shares just how devastating the breakup became, including the period where the grief nearly cost her life and the lessons she learned while finding her way back to herself. But because this is still Traumatically Speaking, the episode doesn't stay in the darkness. It ends with an unexpected encounter, a conversation about the universe's timing, and Sloan's answer to the question everyone secretly wants to ask:What would happen if her ex came back? It's messy. It's honest. It's heartbreaking. It's hopeful. And unfortunately, it's probably going to feel a little familiar.Resources for Chaos Cousins who are healing:💛 Dating Intentionally Podcasthttps://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/dating-intentionally/id1645453880💛 Attachment Style Quiz — Free Assessment by Dr. Amir Levinehttps://amirlevinemd.com/quiz/💛 Attached: The New Science of Adult Attachment by Amir Levine & Rachel Hellerhttps://www.amazon.com/Attached-Science-Adult-Attachment-YouFind/dp/1585429139💛 Start Where You Are: A Journal for Self-Explorationhttps://www.amazon.com/Start-Where-You-Are-Self-Exploration/dp/1635614716💛 For our fellow spiritual girlies: Lightworker Whithttps://www.lightworkerwhit.com/Whit is an intentional self-proclaimed Tarotpist and Psychic Medium.
