  • Episode 8: From Idea to Innovation: Making Waves in Paddleboarding
    2025/11/28

Why didn’t we think of this?!

Becky’s story is an inspiring example of following that mad idea, trusting your instincts, and acting when you see a problem instead of letting it pass you by. She spotted a need, and she fixed it.

Her journey is also one of balance - continuing to deliver an important role for an NHS institution while steadily building a side hustle that, we’re pretty sure, will make waves across the paddleboarding community. Along the way, she’s learned the importance of patents and protecting your inventions, turning her creative outlet into a business with real commercial potential.

Becky is the founder of Fin Skate, a business dedicated to designing, manufacturing, and selling innovative transport tools for SUP and surfboards. What started as a personal search for a creative outlet during a time of deep grief has evolved into a growing brand within the paddleboarding world. She’s built Fin Skate from the ground up - securing a patent, trademark, and design rights, and consistently making sales since launch. Becky’s mission is to support and inspire the paddle-boarding community through practical, well-designed products, and she’s aiming to scale across Europe while staying rooted in innovation and connection.

  • Episode 6: Confidence, Colour and the Courage to Be You!
    2025/10/31

This is a deeply personal account of recovering from breast cancer - but it’s also a powerful reflection on the role confidence plays in recovery and in reclaiming yourself after such a significant health challenge.

Nevo Burrell’s story is about gratitude, control, and individuality. It’s about focusing on what you can control - especially how you choose to present yourself to the world - and embracing the truth that your individuality is what makes you, you.

Nevo Burrell is an image consultant and stylist who has been passionate about fashion and presentation from a young age. She advocates for confidence through timeless style, guiding individuals through transformations—whether advancing in their careers, recovering post-treatment, or overcoming personal challenges.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer over a decade ago, Nevo recognised a lack of support for helping thrivers reconnect with their bodies post-treatment. This inspired her to pioneer the concept of dressing for healing. Today, she supports women who have experienced cancer, as well as others on their journey to confidence and self-expression, believing that dressing well is a vital form of self-care.

Her career includes serving on the Board of the Federation of Image Professionals International, styling for Breast Cancer Now’s ‘The Show’, and working at Future Dreams House, a breast cancer charity. She supports Black Women Rising, advises at Perci Health, and has contributed to exhibitions like Outwitting Cancer at the Francis Crick Centre. Her portfolio also spans independent productions and commercials, including a Vodafone Internet Safety advert.
