If you listened to the introduction, or if you know me at all, you’ll know that I’m right in the process of launching a fashion brand, Scarlet Empyre. But before I ever started working in fashion, I was a humanitarian worker.
In 2016, I got my very first job out of grad school as a junior project development officer. I was based in Tunis, Tunisia, working remotely on the Libya mission. The next year would turn out to be the most intense, harrowing and rewarding year of my life. But to cut a long story short. I burnt out fast and hard. That’s when my transition to the world of fashion began. But it still took me two years before I quit. In this episode, I tell you why.
