A Confederate? Was he a Rhode Islander? Why was his grave marked in such an undignified manner? Out of simple curiosity, I decided to visit the cemetery and see the humble grave for myself The cemetery was much larger than I had expected and finding the stone of William Rogers Greene seemed hopeless in the gathering darkness. The only other visitors turned out to be the cemetery owner and his wife, who took a moment with me to point out the graves of several Union soldiers. The gentleman had no knowledge of a Confederate soldier buried there. His wife agreed to check their records for me, but she was unable to find any documents dated earlier than 1920.

Three Generations

The beginning of the Railroad industry in Rhode Island in the 1840s

Catherine Littlefield was born on February 17, 1755, on Block Island off the coast of Rhode Island. Her father, John Littlefield, served in the Rhode Island legislature, and her mother, Phebe Ray, was a descendant of the earliest settlers of Block Island. Her mother died when Catharine was ten years old, and she was sent to live with her aunt and uncle, Catharine Ray Greene and William Greene – the future governor of the state – in East Greenwich, Rhode Island.

Her aunt, an attractive energetic woman who was known as a charming hostess, took over the role of Catherine’s mother, and supervised her education as a young woman of the upper classes. Present during her aunt’s many social gatherings, Catherine caught the interest of several of their bachelor acquaintances when she came of age. A notable visitor was Benjamin Franklin, who had been a close friend of Aunt Catharine.

I always knew I was different than other kids, I was quiet and did not interact well with other kids my age. I could play alone by myself for hours.

I was born in 1959 and grew up in a loving family , but I was always more sheltered than my other three siblings as my parents knew that I was not as social as they were and was quieter and kept to myself. Through many toils and troubles in finding myself, I finally was diagnosed in my mid 50's with High functioning autism or Asperger's syndrome this is my story
