This episode starts with a Roy Rogers quick-shooter, takes a nostalgic detour through sticky hands, bouncy balls and a very unfortunate microwave incident, and eventually becomes a full-blown discussion about hats. Snapbacks, bowlers, derbies and fedoras lead to hat stacking, double-decker sandwiches, a trip to London and an increasingly confused attempt to find a tree. Somehow, the conversation then turns to the Olympics, curling, figure skating and the mysterious “Figure of Speech” before finally doing what it was always destined to do: getting back to hats.

Tape 81 finds Bootstuck trying to make sense of salmon “running,” only to conclude that their own salmon must be squiggle-wiggling over logs because they don't have legs. From there, a discussion about Snow White and Shrek leads to an unexpected encounter in the woods, followed by a lightning storm that sends everyone running around with buckets on their heads for protection. New shoes, questionable VHS tapes and logger porn they haven't finished watching round out another perfectly sensible day in the Stuck.

Tape 80 is another perfectly normal day in Bootstuck, where Dollar Bill is struggling with currency, Mickey Mouse is apparently coming to town, and the locals have somehow run out of fish despite living beside a lake full of them. Things get increasingly confused as fish are declared useless, Mickey's arrival is planned using paper and folding, and nobody can quite explain where anything comes from — or why Bootstuck appears to be on everyone else's no-fly list. The episode ends, naturally, with a mysterious radio transmission and absolutely no answers.
