    We’ve all heard the term before, “Trust is the Process.” But it doesn’t seem to matter how many times we hear this; it always seems to be hard to understand. The idea of trusting the process, really means letting go of control and the expectations on the outcome and allowing yourself to focus on the present and what you are doing at this moment. It means being relaxed enough at any moment to take effective action when needed or do nothing when that is most helpful.When we think about trusting the process, we should think about trusting ourselves. Trusting that we have the tools and knowledge that will guide the outcome into exactly what it should be as it is all a part of our journey.In this episode, we:

    • Define the word process – a series of steps pr action guided towards a specific outcome. In knowing that the process is in place, there is a certain sense of understanding that should give us ease. So, if you take the simple words, ‘trust the process,’ you get the idea that no matter what comes along, the process will teach you what you need to learn if you are willing to listen, pause, and believe something good will come out of the chaos.
    • Learn that the process doesn’t mean it’s easy, it’s just necessary.
    • When you stop forcing the process, you stop trying the control the outcome and you’ll find that the result is what it should have been.
    • Trusting also brings clarity and great depth of understating.

  • 5 Habits of Self-Love Every Woman Should Practice to Keep You in Alignment

    In the first episode of the Unbalanced Boss Podcast, I take you behind my “why” for finally creating and launching the podcast, as well as launching the Unbalanced Boss Media Group – www.unbalancedboss.com. I also talk about my hope for opening up now and why I chose to focus on a certain group of women. I want women over 35 to feel seen and heard! I want us to realize that we are power and as women we owe it to ourselves to champion ourselves just as hard if not more than we champion everyone one else. I share some of my recent life changes and how the path to healing includes the unpacking of so many boxes; boxes that I tucked so far away I forgot that I had to deal with them in order to begin working on being whole. In this episode of the podcast, we really touch on how we can work better on self-love to stay in our alignment, or in our purpose!

    Here are the five habits that we discuss and why it is essential to practice this so we can stay in our true powers as women!

    Know Thyself and Know Who You Are - your first love should be yourself. Know your needs. Know your desires. Know your dreams. Know your values. Know your priorities. Know yourself basically.

    Make yourself a priority. Sometimes we become so focused on other people that we lose sight of our relationship with ourselves. When we're not taking care of ourselves, it's hard to take care of anyone else. Your health is important, and so is your happiness. If you want to be there for all the people who need you, then make sure you're taking care of yourself first!

    Practice creating boundaries – this is not geared towards keeping others out but keeping you in alignment with you. Know your non-negotiables in relationships. Things you won’t tolerate. Things you don’t want to compromise on. Things you don’t want in your life or in a relationship.

    Have friends or a support system you can turn to that holds you up and fuels you. But you also have to be careful about who you allow into your life. Surround yourself with people who care and want the best for you. People who are positive and uplifting while also holding you accountable.

    Stop the over giving and accommodating. Over giving usually comes from not seeing your own value and seeking approval. We believe the more we give, the more love we will get back. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work like that.

    Losing sight of your true self is one of the most painful things you can endure. Taking the time to find and reconnect with your true self will be worth it. We all want to feel loved, valued, and accepted. But when that pursuit becomes our priority, we tend to lose focus on who we really are. This also means we begin to rely too heavily on external validation — like other people’s opinions and judgments — to determine whether or not we are living our truth. As a result, it becomes difficult to be truly happy since we’re essentially living out someone else’s expectations instead of following our own heart and it first starts with doing a self-check.

    The first step to being in alignment with your best self is choosing to be you. Once you do that, you can begin to take the steps needed and break down whatever has been holding you back. Here are five things you should consider when seeking alignment for your best self:

    1. When you're faced with a challenging situation, it can be hard to know what your next step is. Start by defining what your best self looks like, or what you'd like to see happen.
    2. That's why it's important to ask for inner guidance.
    3. Remember that you are in control and don't rush into decision making.
    4. Try to notice what's going on around you and let go of any preconceived plans or ideas of how things should be.
    5. And be sure to seek support from others who have been through similar situations, so that they can offer the best advice based on their own experiences, not yours.

  • How to Have Courage and Overcome Fear

    Fear is a normal human emotion. Everyone is afraid of something. In fact, if you aren’t, there’s likely something very wrong with your brain. There are more tangible fears like spiders or heights, but there are also psychological fears such as loneliness or failure.

    It may be easy to recognize some of our fears, but difficult to recognize others. However, one thing is for sure: it’s important to acknowledge the fact that our fear is real. When we deny our fears and run from them, they have more power over us when they show up again — only by facing fear can we get to courage.

    Courage, however, recognizes fear, and acts anyway. It’s not being without fear; in fact, it’s allowing yourself to be with fear and to be—with fear. When you’re brave, you’re scared…and you go for it anyway.
